Fog alerts have been issued for extensive areas across the country, spanning from southern London to Northern Ireland.

According to the Met Office, the areas of Antrim, Armagh, Down, Fermanagh, Londonderry, and Tyrone in Northern Ireland are expected to face the most severe weather conditions.

At the same time, regions in England such as the East and West Midlands, London, the southeast, the northwest, and the southwest, along with Wales, are also expected to be impacted.

Britain is currently under two fog alerts.

As temperatures approach or dip below freezing, icy spots caused by freezing fog will create an extra danger.

The fog will gradually dissipate and become clearer in most areas by late morning.

While it's best to avoid traveling altogether, drivers should take care to drive extremely slowly and use their dipped headlights. The reason for this is that high-beam lights can bounce off the fog, resulting in a blinding "white wall" effect.
