Floyd Mayweather 'attacked' while shopping in Hatton Garden jewellery district
Boxing icon Floyd Mayweather has released a statement following a tense encounter with an upset crowd, which led him to quickly leave the jewellery area of Hatton Garden in London.
The previous unbeaten world champion was at a jewelry store when his security team had to quickly escort him into a black SUV.
Video circulating on the internet captures Mayweather appearing upset while wearing a vibrant green jacket as a crowd attempts to approach him.
The former boxer turns to look at the audience while a few individuals attempt to get past his security team, but he is swiftly guided into his car.
An insider familiar with Mayweather informed The Sun that throughout the entire incident, the boxer was never harmed, and noted that the audience directed racial insults at him.
A person who captured the event on video informed the newspaper that around 10 individuals could have pursued Mayweather, while as many as 25 others looked on.
He mentioned that Mayweather's security team was outmatched in numbers. When someone questioned him about his support for Israel, he reportedly said that he had been shopping at the time. He then reiterated his stance, expressing that he was proud to stand with the Jewish community.

He was shoved out of the store, but by that time, several individuals were attempting to strike him and were pushing against his security team.
The observer noted that Mayweather's security team was working to maintain space between the former boxer and the people around him.
Another observer remarked, "Mayweather was browsing with his group."

In a post shared on his Instagram on Wednesday morning, Mayweather reassured his 29.9 million followers that he was "absolutely okay."
He stated, "I want to clarify things... the rumors that have been circulating are completely unfounded."
