Boxer Floyd Mayweather has refuted claims that he was assaulted in London’s upscale jewelry district, following the release of a video that seemed to depict him facing off against a hostile crowd.

On Tuesday night, videos that circulated widely on social media show the American boxing champion being led away by security personnel on St. Cross Street while multiple individuals try to confront him.

The video then captures the 47-year-old man, dressed in a vibrant green shearling denim jacket from Louis Vuitton and camo cargo pants, getting hastily placed into a black SUV that quickly speeds off in the direction of Hatton Garden.

Before being escorted out, the boxing promoter, who goes by the name ‘Money’, can be heard in one of the videos saying, “I’ll deal with these guys.” Shortly after, another man is heard yelling, “You should leave now.”

Mr. Mayweather later posted on social media that he "wasn't hit or physically contacted at all" during the event, emphasizing that the videos illustrate "security performing their duties to maintain order."

Once one of the highest-earning athletes globally, Mr. Mayweather mentioned that he was in the UK for a brief 48-hour visit to do some shopping, and he stated that he was feeling "perfectly fine."

Mr. Mayweather's message followed media reports and social media claims that some people in the audience had supposedly struck him.

The Metropolitan Police stated that their officers did not respond to the situation at Hatton Garden and have not been informed of any related claims.

In a post on Instagram this Wednesday, Mr. Mayweather clarified, "I want to clear up any misunderstandings... the rumors that are circulating are completely false. I wasn't hit or involved in any altercation."

"What you're observing is merely my security team doing their job to maintain order."

I was in the UK for a brief 48-hour visit to do some shopping, and sadly, some individuals allowed jealousy and negativity to create misleading tales.

"I'm doing just fine, and that's all there is to say about it."

Mr. Mayweather, who was active in boxing from 1996 to 2017, finished his career without ever losing a match and secured 15 significant world titles across five different weight divisions.
