Princess of Wales joins other senior royals at Festival of Remembrance - marking significant step in return to public duties
The Princess of Wales participated in the Festival of Remembrance hosted by the Royal British Legion, alongside other high-ranking members of the royal family.
Dressed in poppies, Kate and the Prince of Wales were spotted chatting with each other before settling into their seats at the Royal Albert Hall.
Later on, they were seen clapping from the balcony during the ceremony, which featured a performance by Sir Tom Jones.
The event represents an important milestone in Kate's slow return to her public responsibilities after she was diagnosed with cancer earlier this year.
King Charles and Princess Anne were present as well.
As the King made his way into the London venue, accompanied by the ceremonial sounds of state trumpeters, the audience rose to their feet and cheered.
Queen Camilla will not be attending the Remembrance events this weekend as she is recuperating from a chest infection.
In addition to Kate being at the Royal Albert Hall event on Saturday, she is also expected to participate in the Remembrance Sunday service at the Cenotaph.
These will be her first back-to-back events since she was diagnosed with cancer earlier this year.
Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer was present, alongside several other high-ranking politicians.
On Sunday, members of the Royal Family and top politicians will place wreaths during the national ceremony that commemorates the Armistice of World War I and honors all other conflicts involving British and Commonwealth troops.
The veteran parade organized by the Royal British Legion will feature 10,000 former service members marching in front of the Cenotaph located in Whitehall, London.
Buckingham Palace announced this week that the 77-year-old Queen will not attend either event due to her recovery from an illness.
"Though this news is quite disappointing for The Queen, she plans to observe the occasion in the comfort of her home and looks forward to resuming her public responsibilities by early next week," the statement read.
This follows a year during which the Royal Family has faced several health challenges, which William characterized as "harsh."
