Fern Britton denies Big Brother sign-up is to ‘spill beans’ on Phillip Schofield

During her time on Celebrity Big Brother, Fern Britton mentioned that she will handle the discussion about Phillip Schofield cautiously and with gentleness.

Britton, a famous personality on television who co-hosted This Morning with Schofield for eight years until her departure in 2009, revealed that she decided to join Big Brother in search of a new and exciting experience at the age of 66, and not with the intention of revealing any details about her former co-star.

Schofield departed from This Morning the previous year after working there for over two decades. Afterwards, he confessed to having an imprudent but lawful relationship with a younger coworker and resigned from his position at ITV.

Britton stated to the Mirror that it seems like they have agreed to reveal confidential information.

At the moment, my belief is that we should proceed with carefulness and consideration. It is honest to mention that by the conclusion, we weren't getting along well.

According to Britton, the situation was difficult before she left the well-known daytime program after ten years of leading it.

It has been 15 years since I appeared on that program. I am not up to date with any recent developments. Consequently, my opinions would be outdated. It may not be captivating to discuss, but I really enjoyed my time on This Morning. It was a great experience for me.

I was caught off guard on the day that I decided to quit my job.

"I have gained a vast amount of knowledge and grown stronger from my experiences. It wasn't always easy, but I am content with my choices. However, I acknowledge that if I had applied myself more, I could have achieved even greater success."

Admitting to having a fondness for coarse language, Britton has been residing in Cornwall since her separation from TV chef Phil Vickery in 2020, after being married for twenty years. She decided to participate in Celebrity Big Brother as she yearns for a fresh and exciting challenge.

"I agreed to it because I was looking for some excitement and that was the main reason," she stated.

I am currently in my 67th summer and despite my age, I am excitedly awaiting an upcoming adventure. It is common for people in their late 50s and early 60s to experience a loss of confidence.

There are many women who feel that they are not noticed anymore and that nobody pays attention to them. They feel invisible and no longer get the attention they used to get, including not being whistled at.

Perhaps having this ability could be considered a superhuman quality in today's world, as it allows you to do whatever you want without consequences. Take advantage of your sixties and make it the most adventurous time of your life. Retire while you're still able to work and your physical and mental health is still intact. Embrace and savor every moment to the fullest.

The next episode of Celebrity Big Brother will air tomorrow night on various channels, including ITV1, ITVX, STV, and STV Player.
