Well-known hip-hop artist Fatman Scoop experienced a health crisis and fell unconscious while performing at a concert in Hamden, Connecticut, as stated in various news sources.

People who saw what happened told TMZ that the rapper and radio host fainted behind the DJ booth at around 8:30 p.m. on Friday night. Others quickly came to help by giving CPR while the music stopped playing. Video footage captured the moment when chest compressions were being done on Fatman Scoop.

The mayor of Hamden, Lauren Garrett, said that Fatman Scoop had a "health emergency" at Hamden Town Center Park. He was taken to the hospital in an ambulance, and no one knows how he is doing.

"We will let you know more when we have information," Garrett mentioned. "Please keep him in your thoughts and prayers."

Fatman Scoop, born Isaac Freeman II, is a 53-year-old rapper and hype man known for his powerful voice on popular songs such as Missy Elliott's award-winning "Lose Control" and Mariah Carey's "It's Like That," as well as his hit club track "Be Faithful" featuring Crooklyn Clan released in 1999. I can't recall ever going to a party as a kid without hearing a Fatman Scoop x Crooklyn Clan Party Break. He had a talent for adding more energy and improving hit songs, making them his own. His party breaks were like secret weapons for DJs. Playing a Fatman Scoop Party break could get a crowd just as hyped as playing the hottest song at the moment," said Raheem Palmer, host of Ringer. "Life is too brief."
