The reason for the artist's death is uncertain, but it occurred following a medical crisis while performing on stage.

On Friday evening, when he suddenly fell down, videos from the people watching showed the shocking moment the popular rapper collapsed. This happened just after he had energized the audience by yelling 'Let's get loud!'

The rapper confidently walked to the rear of the stage without his shirt, making his way to the DJ booth.

I yelled for the crowd in Hamden to get loud! Fatman Scoop exclaimed once more. He then made his way up the stairs to the DJ booth, but his breath seemed to be getting heavy as he gasped into the mic.

He tried to keep up his act while standing behind the booth.

The rapper encouraged the crowd to have a good time before pausing and leaning forward. "Let's hear some loud cheers!" he said, his speech slightly unclear.

Right after he was done talking, he fell to the floor and let go of the microphone.

In the crowd, there were screams of terror and gasps of fear as the rapper's colleagues attempted to soothe the audience.

"We're enjoying ourselves," one of them remarked, while another encouraged the crowd to 'cheer loudly', receiving a more subdued reaction than before.

The manager of the rapper expressed that he had no words to describe how he felt about the death of the 53-year-old person.

In a different part of the video, someone from the rapper's group went to the DJ booth and turned off the music, causing a creepy silence to envelop the venue.

The view was partly blocked by the DJ booth as a medical official energetically performed chest compressions on the rapper.

At approximately 8:33pm, emergency services were called to the location. The rapper was carried out of the venue on a stretcher and quickly taken to the hospital.

The Mayor of Hamden, Lauren Garett, mentioned after the incident that Scoop was receiving urgent medical treatment and requested supporters to 'keep him in your thoughts and prayers.'

A highly acclaimed artist and producer, Fatman Scoop gained fame for his numerous partnerships, such as with Missy Elliott, Mariah Carey, and David Guetta.

In 2014, he shared that his uncle first started calling him Fatman Scoop because of his enjoyment of ice cream. Contrary to rumors, the nickname wasn't given to him by Lauryn Hill when he was in the Fugees' music video for Killing Me Softly in 1996.
