American hip hop artist Fatman Scoop, aged 53, experienced a significant 'health scare' while performing at a show in Hamden, Connecticut last week.

The singer known as Be Faithful, whose real name is Isaac Freeman, was doing a show at Hamden Town Centre Park when the incident happened. This was confirmed by Hamden mayor Lauren Garrett.

Garrett shared that he had to be taken to the hospital in an ambulance. It was also mentioned that updates will be given as soon as possible. Your thoughts and prayers for him are greatly appreciated.

New videos on social media reveal Freeman having difficulty getting onto a stage before collapsing behind a DJ booth while music is paused and other performers on stage keep interacting with the audience.

The crowd went quiet, with a few cries in the background, while the medical team performed CPR in a bid to bring him back to life.

At 8:33pm emergency responders were called to the location and transported the rapper from the event on a stretcher. It is unclear how he is doing, but people at the concert were overheard expressing concern after seeing him fall down.

Positive messages are beginning to pour in on social media for the hip-hop hype man from worried supporters.

The music artist from the 2000s became well-known after the successful re-release of his song Be Faithful in 2003, featuring artist Crooklyn Clan.

In a 2014 interview, Freeman shared that his Uncle Jack gave him the nickname because he was a big fan of ice cream when he was younger.

He has worked together with many artists such as Mariah Carey, Janet Jackson, Whitney Houston, and Missy Elliot, receiving great reviews for his collaborations.

In 2005, he was featured in Missy Elliot's music video for Lose Control, which went on to win a Grammy Award for best short form music video and was also nominated for best rap song.

In that year, he featured on Mariah Carey's popular song It's Like That with Jermaine Dupri, earning her a Grammy nomination for best female pop vocal performance.

The new music video for his latest song featuring Dyce Payso, titled Let It Go, debuted shortly before his concert in Connecticut.
