Max Verstappen secured first place on the starting grid at the Japanese Grand Prix and continued to show his superiority in qualifying.

The champion of the world managed to secure the top spot on the starting line-up this season, with his speed at Suzuka leaving no room for competition.

Max Verstappen secured the top spot with a speedy time of one minute and 28.197 seconds, leaving his Red Bull colleague Sergio Perez in second place by a mere 0.066 seconds. Lando Norris from McLaren followed as the third fastest driver.

Verstappen has been dominating pole positions since the last race of the previous season. He recently secured his third pole position in Japan and showed no signs of being defeated. Throughout all three qualifying sessions, as well as the final practice session on Saturday morning, the Dutchman consistently displayed his speed and skill, proving to be the fastest.

Carlos Sainz Secures Third In F1 Japanese GP

He passes Norris while driving on the main straight and after two laps, he overtakes Leclerc.

It is difficult for Leclerc who managed to make his strategy of stopping just once work despite starting from eighth place, but he chooses not to resist due to the disadvantage in speed.

Verstappen is currently leading the race, with a substantial 11-second distance ahead of Perez.

Russell has made a minor adjustment in his strategy, as he moved from a single pit stop plan to a two-stop plan and also opted for medium tires instead.

He falls to the ninth position.

Hamilton states that the tires are still in good condition.

Sainz Pits On Lap 37 Of 53 In F1 Japan GP

It's useless to keep the Spanish driver on the track, considering that he needs to make another pit stop.

Sainz, who won the previous race, made a pit stop that took 2.9 seconds and when he exited, he found himself behind Lewis Hamilton in the seventh position.
