Everton vs Chelsea

Chelsea has the chance to celebrate Christmas at the top of the league with a victory, provided Liverpool doesn't pick up points against Spurs later on. However, we shouldn't jump to conclusions just yet. Securing a win at Goodison Park is not guaranteed, despite Everton's struggles this season.

Enzo Maresca has picked the best possible team given the current injury situation, featuring a somewhat altered formation in defense (UPDATE: Gusto is starting at left back, while Disasi takes the right).

Everton's lineup includes: Pickford in goal; a defense featuring Young, Tarkowski (captain), Branthwaite, and Mykolenko; the midfield with Gana, Mangala, and Harrison; and the forward trio of Ndiaye, Doucouré, and Calvert-Lewin.

Replacements from: Virginia, Patterson, Keane, Beto, O’Brien, Chermiti, Coleman, Lindstrøm, Armstrong.

Chelsea's starting formation (4-2-3-1) features: Sánchez in goal, with Gusto, Colwill, Tosin, and Disasi in defense. In midfield, Enzo (captain) and Caicedo take their positions. The attacking midfield trio consists of Sancho, Palmer, and Neto, while Jackson leads the attack.

Replacements include: Jörgensen, Veiga, Acheampong, Casadei, Madueke, George, Félix, Nkunku, and Guiu.

Date and Time: Sunday, December 22, 2024, at 14:00 GMT; 9:00 AM EST; 7:30 PM IST Location: Goodison Park, Liverpool Match Officials: Chris Kavanagh (main referee); Graham Scott (VAR)
