Burnley 0-2 Everton: Amadou Onana and Michael Keane on target as Sean Dyche returns to haunt former club - Eurosport

Everton

Everton won their fourth consecutive game in the Premier League, beating Burnley with a comfortable score of 2-0 at Turf Moor.

The team playing at their own stadium experienced their 13th loss in the Premier League this season. They displayed a weak performance, managing to only cause Jordan Pickford to make one important save.

Throughout the game, Everton successfully prevented the home team from scoring. They used a temporary defensive formation consisting of Michael Keane, James Tarkowski, and Ben Godfrey, which resulted in their fourth consecutive game without conceding a goal.

Everton scored twice in the first half and secured a win. Amadou Onana scored a header from a corner taken by Dwight McNeil. Michael Keane scored the second goal after his shot was blocked by James Trafford but he rebounded and converted.

Everton have risen to the 16th position in the current standings, while Burnley still find themselves encased in the relegation zone, lacking six points to secure their safety.

What direction will Everton's season take? The past month has been quite eventful. On November 16, the Premier League docked Everton ten points for breaking financial regulations. As a result, the team was pushed down into the relegation zone, narrowly avoiding the very bottom by just a few goals.

Today is the 16th of December, and Sean Dyche has motivated his team to win four consecutive matches and move out of the relegation zone. Feeling wronged can be a strong motivator. Whether or not Everton would have still won these matches without the point deduction is not important because the asterisk next to their total will remain until further notice.

If it happens, what happens next? Everton is currently on a positive path, and if the deduction didn't exist, they would be almost tied with Brighton and only one point behind Manchester United. The situation with the deduction is still undefined, but it remains to be seen how it will affect the team moving forward. Nevertheless, Everton appears to be strong enough to steer clear of another relegation battle, regardless of the outcome.

Everton is doing well lately thanks to their strong defence, which is led by Keane. He did a great job guiding his team from the middle of a defence that was made up of players who were not normally in that position. He was also really good at passing the ball and he scored the second goal of the match.

The Burnley football team consisted of Trafford who scored 5 points, Vitinho with 6, O'Shea with 5, Beyer with 6, and Delcroix also scored 6. Bruun Larsen scored 7 points, Berge achieved 6, Brownhill secured 6 points, and Odobert also scored 7. Lastly, Rodriguez scored 5 and Amdouni with 6 points.

Unfortunately, this rating was an accurate reflection of the team's performance during the game. Additionally, their defense was not as tight as it could have been, resulting in several opportunities for the other team to score. It is evident that this performance was not up to the standards that the team and their supporters have come to expect. They will need to regroup and refocus, identifying areas where they can improve in order to put out a stronger showing in their next match. It is essential that the team is motivated to give their all on the field, training harder to develop their skills and ensuring that each player is working hard to achieve individual and team goals. With some effort and focus, they have the potential to improve their performance and achieve success in their upcoming games.

This goal doubles Everton's lead over Burnley.

In the 48th minute of the match, there was a fantastic play by Godfrey. Burnley fans cheered on Everton as a high pass found Vitinho open on the right side of the field.
