Although LeShuttle trains where cars can board were planned to run again in the evening as scheduled, it is currently unknown when Eurostar passenger trains will resume their operations.

Until further notice, Eurostar has terminated all train services that depart or arrive in London.

The disturbance arose as individuals are set to journey for Christmas within the upcoming several days.

Eurotunnel has announced that it has come to a consensus with the labour unions and expressed remorse for the inconvenience caused to LeShuttle, a mode of transportation that carries vehicles across the Channel Tunnel.

Eurotunnel is pleased with the agreement and wants to say sorry again to all the people who use LeShuttle, Eurostar and other train services that have been affected by the strike. This is what Eurotunnel stated in a message.

Train and infrastructure employees of Eurotunnel went on strike without prior notice, resulting in the cessation of services in the Channel Tunnel.

Eurostar stated that it will be reaching out directly to customers who will be impacted by the current situation. These customers will be given the option to either exchange their tickets without charge or get a full refund.

"We are keeping a close eye on the situation as it changes, and we will let you know about any new information as soon as we can."

Earlier, Eurotunnel announced that it would be arranging for individuals to travel on ferries as their services were temporarily halted. This was made possible through an agreement with various ferry companies.

The unions announced a strike at 11:00 GMT and eventually terminated it later in the evening. According to the law of the French union, they had the freedom to continue their protest for an indefinite period.

The employees were given an option of receiving a bonus of €1,000 (£867) at their own discretion, however the trade unions have asked for a much higher amount, three times the original offer.

Currently, it is uncertain what agreement the union agreed to.

Chris Tirifahy-McCabe and his spouse had arranged to go to Brussels via Eurostar to see their relatives. Presently, Chris is unable to proceed further from St Pancras and is striving to find alternative modes of transportation, like countless other people.

The BBC was informed that Eurostar services have been halted indefinitely, as stated by the spokesperson. There are approximately five hundred individuals stranded beyond security, anticipating further instruction.

"They have initiated an unforeseen attack and they are not stating anything further. There has been a lack of genuine correspondence."

He mentioned that it's uncertain whether to depart or continue in place.
