Liverpool, West Ham remain perfect in Europa League, newcomer Brighton picks up first point

During a match between Liverpool and Union Saint-Gilloise in the Europa League Group E, Ryan Gravenberch, who is 38 years old, managed to score a goal against Anthony Moris, aged 49. This achievement was captured in a photograph by Jon Super from the Associated Press.

On Thursday, Liverpool easily defeated Union Saint-Gilloise in the Europa League, with Ryan Gravenberch securing his first goal for his new team.

Liverpool secured a 1-0 lead before halftime thanks to their new acquisition, a midfielder from the Netherlands who had recently joined from Bayern Munich. The goal came from a rebound and gave the team a much-needed boost.

Later on in the match, Diogo Jota secured Liverpool's consecutive triumph in the secondary European contest by shooting the ball low during the additional time in the second half.

The midfielder of Liverpool named Alexis Mac Allister began on the bench before making his appearance as a reserve following the break to play alongside his older brother Kevin, who is a defender playing for Belgian side Union.

The Reds currently lead Group E by two points, with Toulouse sitting behind them after their 1-0 victory over LASK from Austria.

Liverpool failed to qualify for the Champions League for the initial time since 2016.

West Ham achieved their second consecutive win in the Europa League with a 2-1 triumph at Freiburg, thanks to goals scored by Lucas Paquetá and Nayef Aguerd.

Without any defenders nearby, Aguerd scored the decisive goal from a corner kick taken by James Ward-Prowse in the 66th minute. The ball hit the bottom of the crossbar and went into the net.

Last season's Europa Conference League champions, West Ham, scored the opening goal in the eighth minute when Paquetá leapt up high to meet a cross from Jarrod Bowen with his head.

In the second half, Freiburg's Roland Sallai scored an equalizing goal by seizing the opportunity of a rebound, just four minutes after the game resumed.

West Ham is leading Group A with a total of six points, while Freiburg has just three. Serbia's TSC Bačka Topola and Olympiacos both have one point each after drawing in a 2-2 match.

UEFA penalized West Ham supporters by excluding them from the match following their misconduct during the Europa Conference League final held in Prague.

In Group B, Brighton finally secured their first point in European competition against Marseille in France. This was thanks to João Pedro, who successfully scored a penalty just two minutes before the final whistle, resulting in a 2-2 draw between the two teams.

During the first half of the match, the Seagulls were losing 2-0 as a result of goals scored by defender Chancel Mbemba and midfielder Jordan Veretout. However, Pascal Gross was able to score a goal to bring them closer to tying the game.

The latest coach of Marseille, Gennaro Gattuso, has not yet won a game in the two matches he has managed.

For the very first time in the 122 years of its existence, Brighton will be participating in Europe, having ranked sixth in the Premier League during the previous season, which is the best the club has achieved so far.

AEK is currently in the top position of the group, having secured four points in their recent match against Ajax in Athens. Thanks to Domagoj Vida, AEK managed to secure a 1-1 draw against their formidable opponent. The other two teams in the group, Marseille and Ajax, are currently tied at two points each.

Roma won the match against Servette Geneva with a 4-0 victory, thanks to Romelu Lukaku who scored after receiving a fantastic cross from Zeki Çelik.

The Belgium striker scored his fifth goal out of a total of seven games in all sorts of competitions. Additionally, Andrea Belotti, a fellow striker, scored twice, while substitute Lorenzo Pellegrini contributed one more goal.

Roma, led by Jose Mourinho as their coach, is making an attempt to make it to their third consecutive European final. They are currently tied for first place in Group G with Slavia Prague, both teams having earned six points. Slavia Prague managed to crush Sheriff Tiraspol of Moldova with a 6-0 win.

On his one-year anniversary as the manager of Bayer Leverkusen, Xabi Alonso guided his squad to a victorious 2-1 performance against Molde.

The club from Germany had secured their second consecutive win in Group H, shortly after claiming the leading position in the Bundesliga.

Alonso received acclaim for making it to the semifinals of the Europa League during the previous season, but unfortunately ended up losing to Roma. In the current match, Leverkusen managed to score two goals, courtesy of Jeremie Frimpong and Nathan Tella, within the first 18 minutes.

Isco scored the decisive goal in Group C, leading Real Betis to a 2-1 victory over Sparta Prague. Aris Limassol secured a 2-1 win against Rangers, leaving all four teams with three points in total.

Atalanta managed to secure a 2-1 victory over Sporting Lisbon in Group D after scoring two goals in the initial half of the game. Giorgio Scalvini and Matteo Ruggeri were responsible for scoring the goals that brought Atalanta to success.

Sporting managed to score one goal with a penalty taken by Viktor Gyökeres. However, Atalanta is currently leading the group with two consecutive wins.

Aston Villa managed to grab a 1-0 win against Bosnian team Zrinjski Mostar in a lower-level European competition thanks to Captain John McGinn's header in stoppage time.

Fiorentina, who came in second place last year, drew 2-2 against Ferencváros. Meanwhile, Eintracht Frankfurt, who are considered strong contenders to win this year's Europa League, lost 2-1 to PAOK.

Nordsjælland from Denmark had a commanding victory over Ludogorets, with a staggering score of 7-1.

KÍ Klaksvík garnered the initial point for the club in Europe by securing a goalless draw against Lille.

KÍ has become the initial squad hailing from the Faroe Islands to progress to the group phase of a European tournament.

Another new team, Breidablik from Iceland, was defeated at home 1-0 by Zorya Luhansk.
