Germany, who have won the EURO three times and were also runners-up thrice, are organizing the tournament for the first time after reuniting with East Germany (West Germany had previously held the event in 1988). Julian Nagelsmann, a 36-year-old ex-coach of Hoffenheim, Leipzig and Bayern, was appointed as the new coach, taking over from Hansi Flick on 22nd of September 2023.
