During the latest warm-up friendly match for Euro 2024, Trent Alexander-Arnold exhibited an outstanding performance, which included a remarkable volley that led England to a 3-0 victory over Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The St James' Park team has increased their efforts in getting ready for their attempt at winning a silver medal this summer. Players have been given the opportunity to showcase their skills and earn their spot on the team, including starting positions against Serbia.
Cole Palmer successfully scored a penalty goal, which was then followed by a superb effort from Alexander-Arnold and a goal by Harry Kane, towards the end of the match. This match has surely given coach Gareth Southgate a lot to think about before the final squad submission on Friday.
During their debut as players for England, Eberechi Eze and Palmer exhibited some remarkable skills. Palmer, in particular, managed to score his first international point after Ezri Konsa - who also performed exceptionally - faced a foul in the box. Alexander-Arnold also delivered an outstanding performance in midfield. Although he eventually reverted back to his regular right-back position, Alexander-Arnold managed to score an incredible late volley, which was later amplified by substitute Kane.

Cole Palmer Excels, But Other Fringe Players Falter
Gareth Southgate chose a squad of players who could potentially make it to Euro 2024, however, not many of them played impressively enough to secure a spot on the team after a messy game.
He managed to score in a lot of prestigious competitions such as the Premier League, the FA Cup, the Carabao Cup, the Community Shield, the European Super Cup, and recently for the English team. Although his first goal for his national team was from a penalty kick, he usually scores in a cool, calm and collected manner regardless of the stage or competition.
Palmer's position in the final squad of 26 for Gareth Southgate could be secured with a friendly victory over Bosnia and Herzegovina. This is not just because of his skill in taking penalties, which could come in handy in Germany, but also due to his impressive performance where he appeared to be England's most likely scorer even before he scored. Along with Palmer, Trent Alexander-Arnold and Harry Kane also contributed to the team's win. Alexander-Arnold showcased his quality with a beautiful volley while the England captain showed his ability to score goals. It's a timely reminder of their abilities.
Palmer made greater progress than both.

England Beats Bosnia-Herzegovina 3-0
Gareth Southgate has a few concerns over who to select due to the exceptional displays by Ebere Eze, Cole Palmer and Trent Alexander-Arnold.
Jack Grealish, Adam Wharton, and Jarrad Branthwaite put on promising performances, while Jarrod Bowen, Ezri Konsa, and Ollie Watkins also helped to improve their prospects.
Just for the sake of arguing, if it were up to me, and based solely on the performance in that match, I would choose to eliminate seven players from the 33-man squad. Here are my choices:
You can choose between Kobbie Mainoo and Adam Wharton, as one of them won't be available.
It’s almost midnight on June 3, 2024, and Chris Wilson is bloggin’.
It was an unforgettable evening for Jarrad Branthwaite and Adam Wharton as they made their debut for England, joining the national team for the first time.
On Friday, Curtis Jones, Jarell Quansah, and James Trafford are eager to become a part of the group.

England Dominates Bosnia-Herzegovina 3-0
Grealish proved his worth during the latest game and improved his opportunities in the team. His performance was up and down in the past for City, however, he demonstrated better command and skill compared to Bowen, Eze, and Gordon.

Cole Palmer scored the first goal from a penalty kick, then Trent Alexander-Arnold scored another goal with a perfectly timed volley shot. Towards the end of the game, Harry Kane came off the bench and was able to score England's third goal of the night by being in the right place at the right time to tap the ball into the net.
Appeared somewhat uneasy during a friendly match and received a caution for a mediocre foul. Apart from that, didn't have much to do throughout the game.
He had an unusual number eight on his shirt and he made some smart passes through the center, which helped England win a couple of corner kicks. He also gave Grealish a great pass on the left side, and later scored a well-timed volley for England's second goal.
Eze stood out as one of the standout players in the game. He executed an impressive run that burst through the opposition's defense and displayed a range of skills such as his agility, quickness, and ball handling to unsettle defenders. Nonetheless, midway through the second half, Eze was replaced by Jack Grealish after his run.
Here are the grades assigned to each player.

England Beats Bosnia-Herzegovina 3-0
We won't have any certain information until 8 June, but someone who likes to make bets would probably guess that Cole Palmer and Trent Alexander-Arnold have earned a place on the team.
Eze displayed a remarkable performance, earning him the title of "man of the match". With such a great display, it will be difficult to overlook him in the upcoming Friday game and not consider him for the team's travels.
Adam Wharton remained very calm and collected during his first appearance, showcasing potential as a midfield option, regardless of whether Kobbie Mainoo is selected to join the team.
Konsa, Gallagher, Bowen and Watkins did reasonably well, but were not particularly outstanding, while Marc Guehi faced some difficulties, despite showing potential to make the team.
Based on what we saw tonight, it seems that Lewis Dunk and Jarell Quansah will not be part of the team anymore, since Branthwaite presented an impressive display.
Curtis Jones and James Trafford had a disappointing night as they were not provided with the opportunity to showcase their abilities.

England Beats Bosnia-Herzegovina With 3-0 Score
Next up to address the press is Gareth Southgate. He confirms that he gained what he required from the team's performance.
The game had a nice pace, we just needed to stay calm. Eventually, the final score accurately represented how we played.
He mentions that he believed Palmer and Eze were "exceptional" and "played with a sense of liberation."
He admires Eze's agility and skill to challenge players, but regrets that Palmer could have received more chances because he was trying to be overly accurate.
According to the coach, Harry Kane has had no issue with training the entire week, indicating that he appears to be physically fit and ready.
He concludes by stating that the show has caused him some additional challenges, "but that's a positive situation."
"I felt satisfied with many specific aspects."

England Dominate Bosnia-Herzegovina 3-0
Harry Kane and Cole Palmer are the first ones to be featured on Channel 4's cameras.
According to Kane, the game was excellent for their team, and he also mentioned that their camp had been top-notch.
"It's great that we were able to prepare well, and the entire night turned out to be favorable for us."
According to Cole Palmer, he feels ecstatic after scoring his initial goal for England. When questioned if he believes he has performed well enough to make it into the team journeying to Germany, he responds with uncertainty and expresses his desire to be chosen. Despite having a lengthy season, he still finds himself adapting, yet he remains optimistic about his chances of being selected.
Kane commends Palmer's incredible performance in the season and expresses his confidence in being fit and prepared for the group stage.
Most of the season's conclusion [and his absence from games] was done as a preventive measure. In the long run, it provided an opportunity to take a well-deserved rest following a challenging season.
