Many thanks to all those who stuck with me. I hope you all had a great time.
Lastly, we should listen to Julian Montoya, who heads the Pumas.
I would like to begin by expressing my gratitude to all those who graced us with their presence in Argentina, both this evening and during the course of the World Cup. It is our fervent desire to encourage and motivate a fresh group of individuals.
We have committed some errors, so we must enhance the things that are within our control. We succeeded in scoring a try, but then we had to face our opponent recovering the possession from the kick-off. Nevertheless, we struggled for every ball, and I feel satisfied with the team's performance.
Now, it's time to listen to what the captain of England, Owen Farrell, has to say:
It was a challenging match, extremely challenging. I believed we began the game positively. We were proactive, tough, and made some progress. However, things didn't turn out as we anticipated because of Argentina's impact. The remainder of the match was untidy, but we did what was required to secure the victory.
We aim to illustrate that our team never gives up on the game, as was shown in that hard-worked match. Finishing off this tournament with determination was crucial in our progression. This event is considered a significant milestone within our journey.
Sam Underhill was named the official player of the match for his exceptional performance tonight. He was present in all the crucial moments of the game.
It's a little strange. These past few weeks were amazing. I enjoyed being in this team. It's a privilege to represent your nation, to be a member of this team, and to bid farewell to numerous well-known players from England.
We did a good job by following our plan. Instead of getting nervous, we stayed focused on our strategy. We have many experienced players who understand the importance of crucial moments in games. The team's performance tonight was a great demonstration of their skills.
England Beats Argentina 26-23 In Full-Time!
Argentina committed a penalty, which resulted in England winning the play-off match for the bronze medal!
The game was intense. It was a clash between England and Argentina, and it had the usual style of play from both teams - not the most graceful, but full of passion. It's worth noting that one of Argentina's tries was scored through a pass that clearly went forward, so the final score was fitting. Despite this, the match drew in a crowd of over 77,000, who were somewhat satisfied with the outcome. It may not be a game that people will remember for a long time, but it's commendable that both sides played with respect and pride for their nations. Hats off to both teams!
After 80 minutes, the situation is a bit chaotic, but England is successfully holding onto the ball. If they can manage to make it to the final hooter, they will be victorious.
At the 79th minute mark, Argentina make a mistake and concede a free kick. They seem eager to try and make a quick attack. However, England chooses to take their time and form their formation once more. It's almost the end of the game, and there are only a few seconds left.
After 79 minutes of play, it was determined that there was no violation of the rules. England was granted the opportunity to begin the next play by feeding the ball into a scrum. If they are able to obtain the ball cleanly and execute a few well-coordinated plays, they will secure a bronze medal victory over France.
In the 78th minute of the match, England's scrum was stable and Farrell kicked the ball far. Boffelli caught it and started an attack by stepping past two players. He passed the ball to M Carreras who had plenty of room to run at Ford. Ford did well to defend against Carreras. Argentina had possession but England managed to take the ball back. They showed great defence once again. The referees are double-checking to see if there was any illegal activity during the collision involving Ford. There's a chance that an Argentinian player used a swinging forearm during a ball-carrying move.
In the game between Argentina and England, after a drop-out from England, Argentina regained possession. Sanchez then made a high kick and Boffelli made an incredible catch while jumping in the air. This allowed Argentina to move into England's half, but the English defense remained strong. Argentina then made a move to the right side where there was an opening, but unfortunately the play ended abruptly because a player accidentally touched the ball with their foot, causing an offside.
He tugs it. Amazing! Could that be the winning move of the game, considering there are only five minutes left?
After a 75 minute break, Argentina headed to the left side from the scrum. Sanchez executed a wraparound and connected with Moroni. England attempted to decrease the pace of the game but ended up surrendering a penalty. Despite having an advantage, Argentina couldn't make anything happen, and so they had to make a decision while in the red zone. They could either score three points and tie the game, potentially leading to overtime, or try to score a winning goal. Despite the possibility of exceeding bedtimes, Creevy pointed towards the poles and asked Sanchez to score.
Isn't it progressive?
In the 74th minute, the scrum turns and Argentina charges towards the blindside with Bruni leading the way. They make it up to the 22 and pass the ball down the left side. Sanchez displays quick hands, but England's defence rushes in rapidly causing the substitute, Lawrence, to accidentally knock the ball-on during the tackle. Lawrence had a good defensive strategy but ended up grabbing the ball before the player. Argentina gets to feed the ball for the scrum in the section between halfway and the 22.
In the 72nd minute of the game, Argentina started with the ball and then England took their turn. Afterwards, it was Argentina's opportunity again and Ford made a mark. He kicked the ball out to the middle of the field, allowing Argentina to start a maul. They managed to push it forward for five meters, but eventually it broke down and the ball got lost in a pile of players. As a result, Argentina will have the opportunity to feed the ball into the scrum.
With only nine minutes left on the clock, Argentina has gained possession of the scrum feed in their own half following a brief break. The game is now in its 71st minute.
William Vignoles is urging young Henry to engage and become involved.
Hello Daniel. It's important to mention that England ought to involve Arundell more in the game, but it's also true that he isn't proactive enough. Players like Penaud, Jordan, and others don't wait around, they actively pursue the ball. Chris Ashton had a successful career by simply doing that for 15 years.
After 70 minutes, Itoje managed to secure the line-out, proving once again that he's having a fantastic game. Care quickly maneuvers around the blind side just as the maul starts to move forward. Steward comes in to assist with a strong clean-out. Earl charges in to make contact with the opposition. Ford spots Marchant running at an angle and passes him the ball, but unfortunately, Marchant drops it as he's tackled. It seems like Bruni and Kremer teamed up to make the tackle.
"England Claims Victory Over Argentina With A Penalty In The 68th Minute - Score 26-23"
Once again, it's a three-point game.
After 67 minutes of play, England displayed a tough defence as Argentina tried to create some attractive moves, but none of them led to a clear gap. However, a player from England's team got too excited and broke formation early, leading to a penalty. The culprit was Ford. Sanchez, who came in as a replacement, requested to use his tee.
Ford has entered the field after Tuilagi was substituted earlier. His clearance kick goes just over the 22-meter line, giving Argentina a chance they must capitalize on. England is playing in their typical style, turning what could be a close game into a battle.
England Defeats Argentina With A Penalty, 26-20
Farrell was heavily criticized by the audience which expressed their disapproval through loud jeers and whistles. However, he remained unfazed and successfully scored the penalty.
After 63 minutes of play, England managed to win the scrum penalty and Care decided to give a shot at a drop-goal with the advantage. Unfortunately, it wasn't successful and ended up wide. Therefore, the responsibility of taking the shot from the tee was given to Farrell.
After 61 minutes of play, it's becoming evident that England's offense lacks creativity. When they obtain possession, they pass the ball between players without really advancing towards the goal. Consequently, their attack appears stagnant. Nevertheless, Argentina is trailing behind so credit should be given to England for holding on to the ball and keeping the game under their control. Unfortunately, a moment of miscommunication occurs when two England players grab the ball simultaneously, causing a knock-on just outside Argentina's 22.
We're into the 60th minute and the game is still filled with kicking, which might disappoint those who enjoy a more romantic style of play. Marchant manages to move the ball along the left side and make his way past some defenders. Care passes it along to Chessum who carries it forward. Smith decides to have a bit of fun and kicks the ball ahead, which turns out to be a pretty good move as Mallia has to pick it up before he is forced out of bounds near his own end zone. England will now have possession of the ball.
In less than an hour, Arundell, who may have slipped your mind, caught a challenging kick very close to the ground and then kicked it high up the field. Argentina managed to catch it and began another contest of kicking. England soon gained possession of the ball once again because of their speedy defense which pressured Argentina to make a mistake as they attempted to make multiple passes. Eventually, England made a mistake near Argentina's goal line. The game started to become more disorganized at this point. The ball was back in the middle of the field, and Care, who took over for Young, passed it to Farrell, who kicked it high in the air with hope in his heart.
In 56 minutes, England made a mistake by knocking-on a box kick. Unfortunately, Marchant was unable to catch the poorly executed box kick. As a result, Argentina was given the advantage and a scrum feed at a distance of five meters from their own half.
After 55 minutes, Argentina managed to take the ball from England. England gave up their ball after Itoje succeeded in getting the line-out. Steward made an impressive high catch and passed the ball back, but Underhill became the only player in possession, leaving him vulnerable to losing it when Bruni made a quick move and took control. The ball wasn't kicked out of bounds, which might disappoint Cheika. At this point, Steward decided to quickly kick it back into Argentina's territory.
In just over 50 minutes of play, Argentina has pushed into the danger zone with the help of Mallia and Boffelli working smoothly together on the right side of the field. The ball is passed back towards the center of the pitch and the forwards begin their play. Gonzalez makes an impressive run with the ball, but England's defense holds strong. Despite this, Argentina persists and pushes through 13 phases before England finally manages to turn the tide. Their tenacious defense comes through, with Itoje delivering a solid hit and Earl swooping in for the steal, ultimately resulting in a penalty for England.
After 51 minutes of play, Argentina was in a favorable position thanks to Smith's powerful kick, which sent the ball flying from the halfway mark to his own 22. This gave Argentina an excellent opportunity to start a coordinated offensive from the line-out. You could feel the anticipation building as everyone held their breath before the crucial final play. To add to the drama, Ben Youngs left the field for the last time, leaving behind an impressive legacy in English rugby.
England Wins 23-20 Against Argentina With Boffelli's Penalty At 49
What an impressive goal! Boffelli effortlessly kicked the ball from 45 meters away with a graceful motion of his right foot. This has brought excitement to the game.
After only 48 minutes, the situation changes as England gets a scrum and chooses to go with Tuilagi carrying. Argentina does try to take control of the situation by burrowing to get the ball, but they fail. As a result, Youngs decides to lift a high kick. However, things don't go as planned as it turns out to be a terrible mistake and Argentina gets the ball back. Unfortunately, Argentina doesn't do anything positive with it and eventually kicks it back to England. It's a pitiful performance from England, and the chasers are left off-side. Consequently, Boffelli asks for the tee about five meters inside the England's half and directly in front.
The game has become more exciting after 46 minutes. There have been numerous errors which have made it more interesting. England is struggling to deal with a high kick as Youngs isn't able to catch it and it bounces. The ball has moved off to the side and Isa made a mistake by knocking it on. The ref will review the first mistake made by Youngs.
England Defeats Argentina 23-17
Dan has redeemed himself! Although it was his error that let Carreras gallop through, he made up for it brilliantly. He sprinted towards Carreras, blocked his clearing kick, caught the bouncing ball, and smashed in for a point. That's how you fix things! With Farrell's uncomplicated conversion, England is now leading again.
England Vs Argentina: Test Your Limits In A Thrilling 16-17 Encounter
Argentina scores a surprising point! The first receiver made a move to the left and then pushed past Dan, Genge, and Smith to score. Boffelli also contributed to the score, and Argentina is now in the lead.
The second half doesn't seem to be going well for England as they make a mistake. Youngs kicks the ball out of bounds and Argentina gets to take a line-out close to the 22-meter line.
“Let’s pause for a bit and appreciate the change kit from Argentina. It’s truly remarkable.”
Absolutely right. In my perspective, it's the greatest equipment among all the competitors.
Okay, the teams have resumed and the Argentinian supporters are cheering loudly. Each team has 40 minutes left to play in France. What can they bring to the table?
There is disagreement about the call for the forward pass.
Jim Doherty declares, "You made an incorrect decision on the forward pass!"
This is quite pleasant of Andrew Moore:
As much as I could, I managed to watch a game of rugby between 15 players on each side. Although I felt a bit sad, I was strangely proud of both teams because they performed better than expected. From an English viewpoint, I noticed that one side was playing intelligently, but not with much creativity. However, judging from the players selected, it could improve in the future. My hope is that England will remain competitive in rugby for the next four years, and maybe even win one or two 6 Nations titles. On a larger scale, we need more civil conversations online because I never encounter negativity during games in-person.
I'm happy that you are having a good time. It's obvious that both teams are putting in a lot of effort to come out on top. However, it's also obvious that neither of them deserves to be in the final. Based on what we have witnessed tonight, their performance is not up to par.
The England performance has been of that kind. Did you have expectations for a different outcome?
Picture yourself having to compose an article about Henry Arundell's performance in tonight's game. He hasn't had any contact with the ball. Such a misspent opportunity.
“Did Cinti not just throw a pass that went forward?”
Nick Oakes is curious about the lead-up to Cubelli's score and whether it was a valid try. The video reviews indicated it was a close call, but I firmly believe that the correct decision was ultimately reached.
England Leads Argentina 16-10 At Half-time
And that's the end of it. England had two chances to make a difference with the ball from two scrums near Argentina’s goal area, but they failed to execute properly. Smith's quick kick above the defense was anticipated by the opposing team. The game had some highlights, but it wasn't particularly remarkable.
In less than an hour of playtime, the English team had possession of the ball constantly, but failed to make any significant moves with it. Finally, Smith manages to get his hands on it and makes an attempt by getting into a good position to drop goal, but changes course and charges towards his opponents. Unfortunately, a short pass later gets knocked by Argentina. As a result, England gets a scrum on the left side of the field, just outside their 22.
After a mistake by Cinti, Argentina will lose possession of the ball to England just beyond their 22. Cinti made the error by fumbling a long kick from Steward without any opposition and accidentally knocking it forward as he jumped in the air.
"England Beats Argentina 16-10 With A Try From Cubelli At 36th Minute"
Wow! Argentina has just achieved something really impressive in their rugby match. They put together a great team effort which resulted in an amazing move. Mallia broke free and cleverly passed to Boffelli who was positioned on the right side of the field. The ball was quickly passed down the line to Cinti who was waiting on the left. With one final burst of speed, they were able to get within scoring range before Cubelli seized the opportunity to dive over the try line. Boffelli didn't miss a beat and scored the extra two points for Argentina. This is exactly the kind of play that can put them in a very good position to win the game.
After 34 minutes of play, Argentina has been awarded a penalty in their own 22. They did an excellent job of securing the ball on the ground, with Underhill showing impressive carrying skills. Although he's having a great game, Steward unfortunately dropped the ball and Genge came in for the clearout from the wrong side. Carreras tried to send the ball out of play but missed, resulting in a back-and-forth exchange of kicks between teams. Finally, the ball went out of bounds and Argentina will have the line-out feed close to the halfway mark.
