Tonight's episode of the show seemed to bring an end to the romantic drama involving Mackenzie (Lawrence Boyd), Charity (Emma Atkins), and Chloe (Jessie Elland). This was caused by a terrible vehicle accident that left the three of them hanging precariously on a cliff.

Charity and Mack broke up 5 months ago, not long after they got married. Charity found out that Mack was the dad of Chloe's baby, Reuben. Since then, Mack and Chloe started a relationship and now they're engaged. However, Mack was unfaithful and had sex with Charity just a few weeks ago.

Charity advised Mack to be honest with Chloe about their affair because keeping secrets would just make things worse. However, Mack decided to disregard her advice and suggested to Chloe that they both leave town and start a new life in Scotland, thinking that it would solve their problems.

Whilst Mack and Charity were chatting outside the Woolpack toilets, they had no idea that Chloe was eavesdropping behind the door and had overheard everything they said.

When Chloe talked with Tracy about how she handled Nate's cheating in the past, it made her feel better. She thought that eventually she could forgive Mack for what he did.

As Mack and Chloe were planning to have a brief holiday in Scotland before moving, Mack and Charity finally opted to resolve their past issues.

When Charity assured Mack that she wouldn't reveal anything to Chloe, Chloe happened to be nearby and saw everything. As Mack hugged Charity and gave her one last kiss on her forehead, Chloe walked up to them and inquired about what was happening.

In the latest episode, Mack and Charity clarified that they were making sure there was no negativity between them as we revisited the location. While bidding them farewell and expressing gratitude for being a great pal, Chloe remained composed but her anger was visible. It was evident that she was determined to retaliate.

We proposed to drive during the journey to the northern side, and witnessed Chloe's innermost feelings in artistic camera angles. She unveiled her intention to leave Mack at an isolated location before taking off.

"I can't wait to hit the road with you, it's going to be such an adventure," Chloe said to Mack with a smirk on her face.

While traveling on the rural roads, Chloe maintained her confident demeanor as Mack expressed how glad he was to be taking a break from the village. In response to his declaration of love, Chloe reciprocated the sentiment, although she struggled to hide her inner conflict.

We could hear her thoughts saying "You have no idea about love, and from now on, you'll never see me or your child again."

Things became unexpected when the duo stumbled upon Charity stranded on the roadside due to an empty petrol tank!

When Charity hopped into the rear seat, the ambiance rapidly became tense. Chloe observed how Charity and Mack wriggled uncomfortably while she recounted both the positive and negative recollections of the village.

During a screening of the episodes, Emma Atkins revealed to press, including EverySoap, that Matt Hilton, the director, chose to present the story in a highly stylized manner. By keeping the characters in the dark, the audience is kept on edge and more engaged. The situation is even more thrilling because Charity and Mack are oblivious to the fact that Chloe has learned about their intimate evening together. This elevates the stakes and heightens the suspense for viewers.

Mack and Charity began to suspect something fishy when Chloe intentionally skipped the route to Hotten, citing road construction. Chloe continued her charade by asserting that she and Mack were far more compatible than he and Charity ever were.

Chloe commented to Charity after being told by Mack not to brag about their group's greatness. She sympathized with Charity for being alone and assured her that she will find a companion in due course of time.

Charity reached a breaking point and requested to be released from the car due to the constant passive aggressive mind games. In the midst of an ensuing dispute amongst the trio, a van suddenly appeared and crashed into the car from the side.

As the car went off the road, it forcefully smashed through a wall made out of stones and tumbled multiple times across a field before coming to a stop near the edge of a steep cliff.

The first person to regain consciousness was Mack, who noticed his phone close by. He exited the vehicle to request help from the emergency services. It was not until the car abruptly moved and started tilting towards the edge that Mack comprehended the perilous predicament they were currently in.

Mack was gripping onto the car in a state of urgency to make it steady, when Charity regained consciousness and became aware that her leg was caught. She tried to release it, but the movement caused the vehicle to move, causing Chloe to become frightened.

Mack tried to soothe Chloe's feelings of panic by asking for her trust. He explained that the only pathway to safety was for them to approach him gradually.

Chloe spoke to Mackenzie amid the car's turbulent movements, "Please assure me that regardless of the outcome, Reuben is aware of my affection towards him."

When asked whether Chloe had given up and assumed that Mack would choose Charity over her, Jessie Elland said she didn't think so.

She stated that she doesn't view it as quitting and she doesn't believe that she sees him as a savior. During the time when they were both attempting to escape, she thinks it was the gravity of the circumstance and the awareness that all three of them were in danger of falling.

"I believe that seeking revenge is irrational in this context, as the situation is very risky."

Emma stated that there is a particular moment that she is not sure if it can be perceived on the screen. In this moment, the characters look at each other and collaborate to endure. Emma described this moment as pleasant because this connection has not frequently occurred between them.

Jessie expresses her belief that Chloe is not a mean-spirited individual. In her opinion, Chloe was deeply upset about something she discovered, causing her to react in a vengeful manner. However, Jessie thinks this desire for revenge doesn't stem from malice but simply a way to abandon them in the wilderness.

While attempting to reach safety, Chloe glanced at Charity and exclaimed confidently, "We can do this!" Unfortunately, it became evident that the vehicle was on the brink of toppling over since Mack lacked the power to halt it completely.

Mack found himself in an extraordinarily difficult situation when he saw both Chloe and Charity gesturing towards him with their arms extended. He was aware that he could only rescue one of them.

As the vehicle fell from the edge of the cliff, our eyes caught sight of Mack holding the hand of one of the travelers, rescuing them from harm's way. However, the puzzle that puzzles us all is identifying whom Mack saved! If you observed the situation attentively, you might accurately figure it out.

Although we cannot disclose the person who survives, Laura Shaw, the producer, has given a sneak peek of what the following events will entail. According to her, the beginning of the upcoming episode is her absolute favorite out of all the episodes she's worked on during her 20-year stint.

"No matter who has passed away, the town will naturally experience a state of surprise," Emma stated. "There will be an abundance of apprehension, unease, and attention given to those who were affected."

Emma shared that this feat was a new experience for her, even after portraying Charity for 23 years.

She expressed that she found the experience quite thrilling, especially since it was her first major stunt in the entire time she had been there. Many people were surprised when they heard about it, but she had previously missed out on several stunts due to annual leave or other reasons. Therefore, this was a massive achievement for her.

The period when we recorded the large objects in the quarry felt like we were in a movie. It was an amazing experience that I enjoyed every bit of. The team was fantastic, and we worked so well together. I felt like we were an unbeatable group.

Lawrence Robb echoed his sentiments, "It was an awesome encounter and also my debut stunt, I presume. I had dashed through a fire to save a notorious serial killer a few years ago, but apart from that, this was my first. It was outstanding in every way, be it the fantastic team or the two gorgeous ladies [pointing towards Emma and Jessie]."
