Emmerdale airs ominous cliffhanger after Belle escapes from Tom

Emmerdale ended with a suspenseful scene involving Belle and Tom King.

On Thursday, July 25, there were two shows where Belle managed to escape from her abusive husband. However, in the final scene, it was clear that Tom was not ready to give up on her.

At the beginning of the week, Charity and Cain Dingle visited the isolated Welsh vacation home where the Kings were staying only to discover the place in a mess, with blood marks on the wall.

Audience members would witness Belle experiencing flashbacks as she struggled to get away from Tom when he became violent once more due to her hesitation in relocating to Wales.

In the most recent show, Cain and Charity had a confrontation with Tom when they discovered him appearing disoriented in the cabin. Cain forcefully pushed Tom against the wall, and the aggressor insisted that Belle had abandoned him.

Tom portrayed Belle as having a sudden and intense episode, and justified his controlling actions, such as installing security cameras and monitoring spending, as things she requested following a burglary at Dale Head.

Cain asked Tom to tell the truth about what happened at the cottage, and Tom explained that they had argued because Bell had deceived him about her miscarriage.

"She terminated our pregnancy," he informed them.

Tom claimed that Belle was having hallucinations because she hadn't taken her medication, which caused an argument. Tom also falsely stated that his blood was on the wall.

"I'm concerned that she doesn't have anything with her. She doesn't have a phone or any money," Tom said.

Charity recommended contacting the police, but Tom attempted to convince her not to involve the authorities because Belle could be institutionalized.

The show then switched back to Wishing Well Cottage where Lydia was caught off guard by Belle in the wee hours of the night. Belle informed Lydia that she simply had to return home.

Charity got a phone call from Lydia informing her that Belle had appeared at Wishing Well. Charity and Cain hurried back to the village.

At Wishing Well, Belle didn't want to tell Lydia about how she hurt her hand and said it was from falling on glass. She started crying when Lydia said they would help her get settled the next day.

The following day, Belle was upset to discover that Cain and Charity had pursued her. When they reached Wishing Well, she confronted them for acting without her knowledge.

Belle broke down when Charity revealed that they were aware of her abortion. Charity went as far as to defend Tom by assuring Belle that he was just upset with himself for failing to support her.

Shocked that her family was now supporting Tom, Belle decided to leave Wishing Well to clear her mind. When she arrived at Dale Head, Tom was there waiting for her and mocked her for losing the support of the Dingles.

Tom claimed that Belle was not taking his mental health problems seriously and pointed the finger at her for the breakdown of their marriage.

He said to her: "You used to be a really nice, funny, wonderful girl and now, even your own family believes you have gone crazy."

Tom assured Belle that they could have a fresh beginning if he accepted the job in Wales. He also mentioned that he had the ability to bring joy to Belle's life.

Tom attempted to make advances on Belle, but she resisted and sternly told him to cease his actions.

"I don't want to be your wife," Belle said to him. "I'm leaving and going back home."

Tom attempted to stop Belle from leaving by using force, threatening: "I'll harm you if you try to go out of this house."

Belle escaped by warning Tom that Cain would seek revenge. This convinced Tom to open the door for her to run away.

"It won't take much time for you to return begging," he said confidently.

Belle showed up at Wishing Well Cottage and shared with her family that she was getting a divorce. She sat by herself next to Lisa's urn, while Tom watched menacingly from afar.
