Emma Raducanu advanced to the round of 16 at Eastbourne by defeating American player Sloane Stephens in two sets on Tuesday.

The previous winner of the U.S. Open secured victory by winning nine consecutive games, ultimately finishing with a score of 6-4, 6-0.

Raducanu, who is 21 years old, showed her top tennis skills during the grass-court season, winning the second set in just 25 minutes.

"Thanks to everyone who came out to show their support. I truly felt your presence and it meant a lot to me." Raducanu expressed following the game.

The court here is larger than the one in Nottingham. It's great to see lots of people here, even though it's hot. I believe it may be harder for the audience to sit in the heat than for us players to be out here sweating, so I give credit to all of you.

Katie Boulter came onto Centre Court after her teammate Raducanu and was victorious against Petra Martić from Croatia, with a score of 6-1, 7-6.

The top-ranked player from Britain dominated the first set with a score of 6-1. However, her competitor picked up speed in the second set, winning four consecutive games. The second set ended with a tiebreak, with Boulter coming out on top with a close score of 10-8.

Earlier today, Cameron Norrie, who is currently ranked as the second best British player, was knocked out in the opening round of the men's tournament. He was defeated in straight sets by Finland's Emil Ruusuvuori.

In the initial round, the two players were evenly matched, taking turns winning games while depending on their serves. The Finn ultimately clinched an 11-9 victory in the tie break, with both players having five chances to win the set.

Ruusuvuori won the second set 3-6 to move on to the round of 16.

The competitors from Britain, Yuriko Miyazaki and Liam Broady, were defeated in their first matches of the tournament.
