Emma Raducanu displayed exceptional tennis skills but unfortunately lost to Aryna Sabalenka at Indian Wells. Sabalenka's frustration with Raducanu's performance led to a foul-mouthed outburst.
Sabalenka praised Raducanu following her victory over the British player, who has been absent from tennis for a significant amount of time and currently holds a world ranking of No.250.
In January, Sabalenka nabbed her initial Grand Slam championship at the Australian Open. She was deemed the clear favorite in her last-32 bout against Raducanu.
However, Raducanu showcased a remarkable display and caused Sabalenka to perspire, particularly during the second set.
The match was quite challenging, as she played an impressive game of tennis; however, I feel overjoyed with the performance I showcased today,' Sabalenka expressed.
She's an amazing athlete and she displayed outstanding tennis skills today, even though she hasn't competed much in recent months.
Sabalenka received a caution from the umpire during the second set due to the use of foul language and later on, she had a conversation with the official immediately after the match.
Sabalenka added, "I simply advised her to steer clear of that warning."
The situation was not too terrible. Although one particular word was used, I did not send it along to her. I merely expressed my frustration by saying "you're angry" and "forget this nonsense".
"I was thinking to myself, 'Isn't it possible to just let that go?' Did I actually use those cursing words? I repeated the same mistake, but I am not pleased with what I said."
Chelsea's performance was disappointing and they might end up with a tie against Newcastle, who have a record of performing poorly away from home, at Stamford Bridge.
