Social media users quickly took to the internet to share highlights of Elon Musk's significant appearance on stage during Donald Trump's rally on Saturday.
On October 5, the richest person in the world visited Butler, Pennsylvania, where the former president had a close call with assassination last July. He attended the event to express his backing for the Republican presidential candidate, just a month ahead of the elections.
During the rally, Trump greeted the owner of X, which was previously Twitter, calling him the person who “rescued free speech” and a “rocket creator.” Musk walked up to Trump wearing a black baseball cap that said “Make America Great Again” and a T-shirt that read “Occupy Mars.” He acknowledged that he embraced the “dark MAGA” identity, referencing a far-right internet meme.
The owner of SpaceX seemed to be ecstatic, enthusiastically waving his hand at the crowd surrounding him. Almost instantly, social media users took to their platforms to mock the businessman, calling him “the ultimate jumper of all time.”
Videos of Musk flying through the air were shared alongside images of chipmunks and scenes from The Simpsons on X, the platform that Musk acquired for $44 billion in 2022.
"I'm not sure if this will resonate with anyone, but one user on X remarked that Elon jumps like a kid who grew up in a homeschool environment," while sharing a clip of Musk leaping behind Trump.
Another person commented, “Elon Musk chose to attend Trump's election rally and instantly became a sensational meme star.”
An online investigator recalled a memorable moment from Friends in which Ross excitedly hops around with Rachel and Phoebe after he thinks he's discovered a new place to live. In this scene, Ross, portrayed by David Schwimmer, can be seen waving his arms wildly and yelling in a high-pitched voice.
Some people included the hashtag #dorkmaga in their captions alongside a photo of Musk performing on stage.

"One commenter noted that Elon Musk is giving Donald Trump a unique chance to not be the most ridiculous or embarrassing person in a photo."

On Threads, a user shared images showing Musk edited into famous movie moments from films like Titanic, Dirty Dancing, and Joker. They also placed Musk's figure alongside Mario and Luigi, as well as the Giganotosaurus from Jurassic Park.
"I believe this election is the most crucial one we will ever face. It's not just another election," Musk stated during the rally. "It's essential for President Trump to succeed in order to protect the Constitution. He needs to win to safeguard democracy in the United States. This is a situation we absolutely must win."
