The 21-year-old has signed a contract with The City Ground until 2029 after playing 44 games in the Premier League for the Magpies.

Sources indicate that Forest may need to pay as much as £30 million for the midfielder.

"We are very happy to have Elliot join us at Nottingham Forest and we are glad that he has decided to further his skills with us in the Premier League," commented Ross Wilson, Forest's Chief Football Officer.

We believe he will do really well in a Forest jersey, just like other players his age have. As soon as the chance came up for him to possibly join, we were all eager to make it happen.

Surprisingly, Newcastle has announced the acquisition of 30-year-old goalkeeper Odysseas Vlachodimos from Forest. However, the details of the deal suggest it may not be a straightforward swap.

Odysseas achieved success by winning two top-tier league championships while playing for Benfica for five years. He later transferred to England to sign with Forest in September 2023, but ended up being loaned out during his time with the team.
