Eddie Howe's Newcastle United team had to meet the requirements of the Profitability and Sustainability Rules (PSR) before the financial accounting period ended on June 30. This put them in a position where they needed to make sales promptly to narrow the gap.

Young player Anderson has joined Forest under coach Nuno Espirito Santo. He played in 55 games for Newcastle's first team, with 44 of those being in the Premier League.

In the meantime, Minteh relocates to Brighton after making a strong impression while on loan at Arne Slot's Feyenoord last year. He managed to score 10 goals in 27 Eredivisie matches.

Newcastle has finalized a transfer for Forest goalkeeper Odysseas Vlachodimos to join St James' Park. The Magpies were looking for backup goalkeeper options during the summer transfer window.

And it was said by Sky Sports News that Forest are interested in acquiring Carlos Miguel from Corinthians to fill that spot.

Reasons For Newcastle Selling Anderson

Newcastle is set to get around £35 million from Nottingham Forest for Elliot Anderson.

The agreement is a simple sale to Forest, and Anthony Elanga is not included in the trade.

Even though Anderson was hesitant to depart from his childhood team, he couldn't resist the tempting offer and he is aware that Forest has successfully established itself as a Premier League club.

Newcastle believed they had no other option but to part ways with Anderson, even though Eddie Howe had a strong liking for the 21-year-old. The alternative would have been facing a points deduction in a season where they aim to be competitive.

Newcastle's 2024/25 Premier League Schedule

Newcastle will kick off their 2024/25 Premier League season by playing against newly promoted Southampton at home on Saturday August 17th.

Eddie Howe's team will first travel to Bournemouth on the second weekend of August. They will then finish off the month with a home match against Tottenham, a team they defeated 4-0 in April.

February will be a tough month for Newcastle United, as they face tough matches against Manchester City and Liverpool away from home.

Newcastle will end the season by playing their final game at home against Everton on Sunday, May 25th.
