Ellen DeGeneres and her spouse, Portia de Rossi, have allegedly put their Montecito home on the market and moved to the countryside in England after Donald Trump's victory in the presidential election.

The 66-year-old ex-television presenter and her 51-year-old spouse have left the country and intend to "never come back" to the United States, according to information from sources reported by The Wrap.

According to reports, the couple, who have been together for 16 years, has relocated to the Cotswolds in South West England. Their mansion in Montecito, located around 90 miles north of Los Angeles, is either already listed privately or is expected to be available for sale in the near future.

According to TMZ, DeGeneres and De Rossi had already bought their house in England before the election. However, they felt deeply disappointed by his victory and chose to leave the United States for good.

The Independent has reached out to DeGeneres's spokesperson for a response.

The announcement of their move quickly grabbed the attention of British broadcaster Piers Morgan, who humorously reacted by tweeting: “OMG... no!”

The Finding Nemo star's recent update follows her departure from the entertainment industry. In 2022, the comedian had to wrap up her popular show, The Ellen DeGeneres Show, after a Buzzfeed News report claimed she had created a harmful work environment.

DeGeneres later revealed that she plans to retire this August after wrapping up the last performances of her "Ellen’s Last Stand… Up" tour. These shows were recorded for her upcoming Netflix special, titled For Your Approval.

Many other famous figures, such as America Ferrera, Sharon Stone, and Cher, have also shown a desire to leave the U.S. if Trump is re-elected.

Ferrera, 40, known for her roles in Ugly Betty and Superstore, was recently spotted visiting a private school in South West London that her two kids, six-year-old son Sebastian and four-year-old daughter Lucia, might enroll in.

According to a source who spoke to the Daily Mail earlier this month, Ferrera and her husband, Ryan Piers Williams, who also stars in Barbie, are committed to moving in order to provide their children with the best opportunities available.

Stone had earlier promised to move out of the U.S. if Trump became president. In July, the 66-year-old actress from Basic Instinct mentioned to the Mail, “I’m definitely looking into buying a home in Italy. It seems like a smart idea right now. This is the first occasion in my life where I’ve witnessed someone campaigning for office based on hatred and oppression.”

After winning against Vice President Kamala Harris, Trump has been naming individuals for his cabinet who many see as “unqualified” and controversial. So far, he has suggested Matt Gaetz — who has faced allegations of engaging in sexual activities with a minor — for the role of attorney general, former congresswoman Tulsi Gabbard as the director of national intelligence, and conspiracy theorist Robert F. Kennedy Jr. to serve as health secretary.
