She has revealed some information about her relationship with her boyfriend, Max Bennett Kelly, whom she has been seeing for about three years. In the year 2020, he put out his initial song called "Tukwila Soda Lime."
He made an announcement in May 2023 about the release of his first EP titled "Junk Male," which eventually came out on June 23.

After dropping his first album, Junk Male, Kelly unveiled a brief flick with an identical moniker in September 2023. The artistic duo not only takes the leading roles but also shares credits for directing, co-producing and co-scripting the project. Meanwhile, Kelly is hailed as the short's prime brain, co-writer, art designer, co-producer, and sound effects whizz. The film showcases a pugilist named Hollywood Thompson, portrayed by Kelly himself, and his romantic involvement with Purnell's character, the charming Decency "Dee" DiMartini.
On the evening prior to the premiere of the Junk Male movie, Kelly took to Instagram to address his followers and express his admiration for Purnell.
It's hard to believe that it's finally happening. It feels a bit unreal to have worked on something for almost a year, and then suddenly, it's out for the world to see. I owe a lot to Ella - she was instrumental in bringing this film to life. Her professionalism and audacity really made it stand out, and I'm incredibly proud of what we've accomplished. She's an exceptional director, and I'm thrilled to have had the opportunity to collaborate with her. :)

The day of the release of Junk Male has arrived! I am so much amazed and excited. It was a lot of hard work for me and I gave a lot of my time and effort for making it possible. I am extremely happy to share it with you all. Some behind-the-scenes photos also accompany this exciting news. This short film was the first time I ever got to direct something and it was an unbelievable experience to do it with my friends and my brilliant partner.

Purnell shared several pictures on her Instagram account on June 13, 2022, which showcased her and Kelly. In a heartfelt message addressed to her significant other, she expressed her gratitude for his unwavering support during a challenging period. The talented actress was in the process of relocating when someone stole her U-Haul truck containing all her possessions from her driveway.
The woman began by expressing her heartfelt gratitude towards her partner, who had provided unwavering support throughout a tumultuous week. She credited him with handling all the difficult tasks with ease, such as making numerous phone calls and reports to the police, dealing with insurance matters, and restoring order amid chaos. He even went so far as to drive her around, cook for her, and provide emotional support when she was feeling overwhelmed. She gushed about how his love had left her feeling emotionally fulfilled and praised him for his kindness, generosity, and gentle nature. She went on to express her admiration for his many talents, intelligence, and sense of humor. She considered herself incredibly lucky to have Max in her life, as he brought out the best in her and supported her in all her aspirations, no matter how wild they may be. She concluded by thanking him for being himself, for reminding her to take a breath and for being the anchor that kept her grounded.

In January 11th of 2023, Purnell shared a segment of a series of photos taken from a photo booth that displayed her and Kelly engaging in a kiss.

Kelly celebrated Purnell's birthday on September 19th by sharing a slideshow of pictures. He expressed his affectionate wishes by referring to her as the "love of my life". Kelly mentioned how much he enjoys traveling with her, playing Jenga, hosting barbecues, starting fires, sticking car stickers, directing movies, creating a pleasant atmosphere, and eating cookies. He thanked her for making his life feel more vibrant and declared his love for her.
