Fiorentina has announced that midfielder Edoardo Bove is now in stable condition at the hospital after his frightening collapse, which led to the postponement of their match against Inter Milan on Sunday.
The 22-year-old Italian collapsed on the field just 16 minutes into the scoreless match. He is now receiving sedation in the intensive care unit at Careggi Hospital in Florence, as reported by the club.
In a joint statement with the hospital, Fiorentina announced that preliminary heart and brain examinations have confirmed there is no significant harm to his central nervous system or heart and lung functions.
The club also mentioned that Bove's condition will be evaluated again "within the next 24 hours." His family and teammates, who quickly came to help him and were visibly emotional while he was taken off the field on a stretcher at the Stadio Artemio Franchi, are now with him.

Bove’s fainting incident brought back memories for fans of Christian Eriksen's collapse during the 2020 European Championship match between Denmark and Finland. It also echoed the heartbreaking loss of former Fiorentina captain Davide Astori, who tragically died in his sleep at the young age of 31 in March 2018, just before a league match against Udinese while staying in a hotel.
Goalkeeper David de Gea posted "God please" on social media, prompting a surge of support from various clubs, including Roma—Bove's parent club that loaned him to Fiorentina in August.
"We're all in this together. Stay strong, Edo!" Roma expressed in a show of support.
The game between Inter and Fiorentina will be postponed to a later date that has not yet been decided. This decision follows an earlier incident in April when Evan Ndicka fainted during Roma's match against Udinese.
