Edinburgh streets sealed off after Cowgate pedestrian 'road collision'
The Cowgate area was cordoned off, and a blue forensic tent was set up.
On Saturday evening, major police activity led to the closure of streets in central Edinburgh following an incident where a pedestrian was struck by a vehicle.
Several streets in the Cowgate were cordoned off, and patrons in nearby pubs were requested to vacate the area.
Police Scotland later announced on social media that they had reacted to alerts regarding a "serious car accident" around 7:30 PM.
A blue forensic tent was set up at the scene, and numerous police cars responded to the situation.
Authorities set up barriers on the South Bridge to block off the area where the accident occurred.
Officials also erected barriers on the South Bridge to block the view of the Cowgate beneath.
The barriers have been removed, and a bouquet was brought to the location on Sunday morning.
