Who is Ed Davey?

Ed Davey is a British politician and member of the Liberal Democrats party. He was born in 1965 in Nottingham, England, and grew up in Oxfordshire. Davey attended a state school before continuing his education at Oxford University, where he studied politics, philosophy, and economics.

Political Career

Davey was first elected to parliament in 1997, representing the Kingston and Surbiton constituency. During his time in office, he has held various government positions, including Secretary of State for Energy and Climate Change. He was also the Deputy Leader for the Liberal Democrats from 2010 to 2014.

Davey is known for his work on environmental issues and was instrumental in the formation of the Energy and Climate Change Select Committee. He has also been a vocal advocate for LGBTQ+ rights. In 2020, Davey was elected leader of the Liberal Democrats, succeeding Jo Swinson.
