Download 2025: Headliners and 90+ bands revealed
The Download Festival, known as the ultimate celebration of rock and metal music, is making its comeback for its 22nd year, revitalized and refreshed in 2025 under the name DLXXII.
Today, three new headlining acts have been revealed for the first time: Green Day, Sleep Token, and Korn. They will be joined by more than 90 other incredible artists representing a wide range of genres, including rock, metal, punk, emo, hardcore, alternative, and classic rock.
This year's festival is scheduled for June 13-15, 2025, at the iconic Donington Park in Leicestershire, known as the birthplace of rock music. General admission tickets will be available for purchase starting at 9 PM on Thursday, November 14, at www.downloadfestival.co.uk.
For the first time ever, next year’s Download Festival will feature a trio of headliners who are taking the main stage for the first time. This thrilling development highlights Download's dedication to presenting a dynamic and innovative lineup year after year, giving fans even more reasons to attend this can't-miss event. Today’s announcement included a host of major acts from the UK and beyond, such as Weezer, Sex Pistols featuring Frank Carter, Jimmy Eat World, Within Temptation, Eagles Of Death Metal, The Darkness, Poppy, Loathe, Spiritbox, Meshuggah, Steel Panther, Lorna Shore, Airbourne, Jerry Cantrell, Cradle Of Filth, Alien Ant Farm, CKY, McFly, Don Broco, Mallory Knox, The Ghost Inside, Turbonegro, Sylosis, Whitechapel, Fit For An Autopsy, Kittie, Jinjer, and many more. Punk-rock icons Green Day are poised to make their long-anticipated debut at Download, marking their first time headlining in their 37-year history. With a reputation for electrifying performances and a career that has influenced rock music significantly, Green Day's legacy of unforgettable live shows is sure to energize the crowd on Friday night. They recently celebrated two significant anniversaries—the 30th of their groundbreaking album Dookie and the 20th of the influential American Idiot—further solidifying their status as one of the most iconic and influential bands in the industry. Emerging from relative obscurity, the enigmatic group Sleep Token has rapidly gained popularity since their formation in 2016. Known for their anonymous masked identity, this collective is now preparing for their debut headline performance at Download after successfully headlining arenas this month. With millions of monthly listeners, they aim to deliver an unforgettable show at the legendary Donington venue on Saturday. The festival will conclude with nu-metal pioneers Korn, who will also be headlining Download for the first time. Established in 1993, this California-based quintet has never been more culturally relevant, with their recent performances generating significant excitement in the rock scene. Having inspired numerous bands like Slipknot, Limp Bizkit, Machine Head, and Sepultura over their 31-year career, Korn is finally ready to headline Download. Andy Copping, organizer of Download Festival, commented: “Building on the success of last year’s sold-out 21st edition, Download’s legacy not only encompasses the incredible artists who have graced the stage over the years but also our unmatched community, welcoming atmosphere, and fantastic late-night entertainment at District X—there's something for everyone.” The DLXXII lineup was unveiled during a special Metal Gala launch event at One Marylebone, where rock and metal legends gathered. The one and only Paddy Considine (of House Of The Dragon and Peaky Blinders fame), who will perform at this year’s festival with his band Riding The Low, features in the announcement video alongside other Download VIPs. As he states in the short film titled ‘Est Momentum’, Download is “a place where legends are born. This is where you belong.”
This is just the start for DLXXII, with plenty more performances and surprises on the way. Get your tickets today at www.downloadfestival.co.uk.
