Bayern Munich, currently at the top of the Bundesliga, managed to secure a 1-1 draw against Borussia Dortmund in the Klassiker with a late equalizer from the on-fire Jamal Musiala in the 85th minute. This result puts them seven points ahead in the standings.

Dortmund, who had triumphed in their last six home matches in the league this season, went ahead in the 27th minute with an impressive solo goal from Jamie Gittens. Things got worse for the visitors just six minutes later when their leading scorer, Harry Kane, had to leave the game due to an injury.

The Bavarians, who had come out on top in their previous seven games without letting any goals in, stepped up their game in the second half. They created several scoring opportunities but struggled to finish before Musiala found the back of the net to level the score.

In an eventful opening half, Dortmund had to substitute injured defender Waldemar Anton just 17 minutes into the match.

The hosts capitalized on their first opportunity of the match when England's youth international Gittens evaded Konrad Laimer, burst into the penalty area, and fired a shot that went past goalkeeper Manuel Neuer, marking his fourth goal of the season.

Bayern, currently undefeated in the league, later substituted Kane, who has scored 14 goals in the league, bringing on Thomas Mueller in his place.

The experienced player nearly found the net just two minutes into the second half when Musiala set him up inside the area, but his close-range shot was denied by the goalkeeper, Gregor Kobel.

Now that the visitors had the upper hand, Musiala took a chance with a curling, low shot from 20 meters out. Soon after, Leroy Sane had an opportunity to score but his close-range attempt went off target.

Bayern currently leads the standings with 30 points, holding a seven-point advantage over Eintracht Frankfurt, who will play against Heidenheim on Sunday. Dortmund is in fifth place with 20 points.
