Novak Djokovic criticized fans who showed disrespect towards him on Centre Court at Wimbledon while he won in straight sets against Holger Rune.

The Serbian player was constantly being shouted "Rune" at, which he believed were meant to be jeers in a heated environment at the Wimbledon tournament.

Furthermore, Djokovic, who has won Wimbledon seven times, criticized the spectators who were cheering for Rune and elaborated on why he believed it was disrespectful.

"Thank you to all the fans who have shown respect and stayed here tonight, I am truly grateful from the depths of my heart," expressed Djokovic.

For all those individuals who decided to show disrespect towards the player, in this instance myself, I bid you a very pleasant evening. Good night, good night, good night.

"They were definitely cheering for Rune, but that's just an excuse to boo. After being on the tour for 20 years, I know all the tricks. I choose to focus on the fans who are respectful, pay for their tickets, and truly love and appreciate tennis and the effort that players put in."

"I competed in a very challenging setting, believe me, you all can't match my skills. I am performing well during the game, focusing on each day. I will be back on the practice courts tomorrow to review this match."

Nick Kyrgios, who made it to the finals in 2022 and is a close friend of Djokovic, did not agree with Djokovic's opinion on the chants. He believes that the chants were simply a show of affection for the Danish player.

"It wasn't jeering, but audiences everywhere should realize that Novak doesn't require any more incentive," the Australian stated. "He is determined and one of the top players globally."

Many times I have noticed the crowd provoking Novak. This is not a good strategy when facing him. Some people thought this was his first challenge, but he proved them wrong by confidently responding to all inquiries. The upcoming match against Alex De Minaur promises to be exciting.

Meanwhile, Kyrgios has predicted that Jannik Sinner will be the winner of the men's singles, with the Italian player gearing up to compete against Daniil Medvedev on Tuesday.

"It's a significant day for the Italian players," stated Kyrgios, mentioning Jasmine Paolini's upcoming match against Emma Navarro.

Jannik has been performing impressively, especially in the recent test against Matteo Berrettini. I believe choosing Jannik Sinner is a wise decision at the moment.
