I'm A Celeb's Tulisa says she's demisexual - here's what it means

Demisexual

Tulisa Contostavlos shared with her fellow campers that she requires a deep emotional connection in order to feel sexually attracted to someone.

Tulisa Contostavlos from I'm A Celeb shared with her fellow campers that she identifies as demisexual and has chosen to refrain from sexual activity for over three years.

The N-Dubz vocalist and ex-X-Factor judge shared that she requires a strong emotional connection with someone before feeling any sexual attraction towards them.

"It's really about the bond I share with someone and the feelings that arise from that. I have this desire to express those emotions," she mentioned during Tuesday's episode of the ITV program.

When she described herself as demisexual, many viewers became curious about the meaning of the term "demisexual."

It's a term that refers to individuals who only experience sexual attraction after establishing a strong emotional connection based on personality, instead of feeling an immediate spark.

They might not be attracted to someone because of their appearance, scent, or voice.

Tulisa expressed to her fellow camp members that she doesn't consider herself to be overly sexualized.

"I really crave meaningful connections... I take my time getting there," she expressed.

A 36-year-old woman from London shared that she has a profile on the elite dating app Raya, but the idea of dating really makes her feel nauseous.

Tulisa began her career in the music scene as part of the group N-Dubz, performing with Dappy and Fazer.

Tulisa gained prominence in the 2000s as a member of the group N-Dubz. She later pursued a solo career, releasing songs like "Young" and "Sight of You."

After Rylan Clark stepped into the Australian jungle on Sunday, he, who met Tulisa when she served as a judge on X-Factor, encouraged viewers to refrain from commenting on her looks.

In a conversation with Olivia Atwood, a podcaster and former contestant on Love Island, Tulisa opened up about undergoing surgery and using fillers following her diagnosis of Bell's palsy.

Bell's palsy is a condition that causes a temporary loss of control over the muscles in the face, leading to paralysis.

Tulisa mentioned on Olivia's So Wrong It's Right podcast that the situation caused her to feel really down, prompting her to seek treatments to improve the symmetry of her face.

She's in the Australian rainforest with Coleen Rooney, social media influencer GK Barry, McFly's Danny Jones, and Radio 1 presenters Melvin Odoom and Dean McCullough.
