Dele Alli has announced that he will be leaving Everton, even though he has been training with the team since his contract ended last summer.

Alli moved to Everton from Tottenham in January 2022, but during his time with the Merseyside team, he only started one match in the Premier League and came off the bench 12 times.

He hasn't participated in competitive football since February 2023, when he was loaned to the Turkish team Besiktas. Last year, he spent six weeks in a rehabilitation center in the United States to address issues related to addiction, mental health, and trauma.

This season, he has stayed at Finch Farm while working on overcoming various fitness challenges. Now, it seems he is ready to start a new journey outside of Merseyside. He has also shared his appreciation for the support Everton has given him throughout his time with the team.

In an Instagram post, Alli expressed: "The year 2025 could lead me toward new adventures and thrilling chances. Before any of that unfolds, I want to emphasize my deep appreciation for all the fans, staff, and players at Everton FC for the support they've shown me."

"It's been a really challenging experience as I work to get back in shape for matches, and I'm truly grateful to the Everton staff for all their effort in helping me through this process," Alli said.

"Unfortunately, things haven't gone as well as we had all wished, and I feel it's time for me to start a new chapter. I wish everyone at this fantastic club the best of luck moving forward."

Dele was seen watching Como's victory over Roma last weekend. After the game, manager Cesc Fàbregas extended an invitation for him to join the team's training sessions after Christmas.
