Davina McCall became emotional and teared up while honoring her boyfriend, Michael Douglas, during the National Television Awards on Wednesday.

The 56-year-old television host received the Special Recognition Award in acknowledgment of her significant impact on the television industry over her career.

The star of My Mum Your Dad was deeply moved when a video montage featuring heartfelt tributes from people like Dermot O'Leary, Alison Hammond, and Claudia Winkleman was shown on screen.

Davina exchanged a heartfelt kiss with Michael before heading onto the stage to receive her award from Hannah Waddingham.

The star called her boyfriend by his complete name, 'Michael Douglas,' and then playfully remarked, 'the younger one, not the older one,' referring to the actor who shares the same name.

Davina McCall became emotional and cried as she honored her boyfriend, Michael Douglas, during the National Television Awards on Wednesday.

Davina exchanged a heartfelt kiss with Michael right before she went on stage to receive her award from Hannah Waddingham.

While gazing affectionately at him from the stage, she expressed that Michael had helped her become 'a better person.'

In her acceptance speech, she expressed her gratitude, saying, "I'm really thankful for this; it means a great deal to me. I can hardly find the words to explain how much this means. I don't even know how to begin."

The television icon shared, "I truly enjoy my work and feel fortunate to be able to share it with all of you. While you might enjoy some of it, it's possible that not everything will resonate with you. I've hosted some real duds, I admit!"

Davina becomes part of a distinguished roster of celebrities who have been honored with the Special Recognition Award in the past, such as Sarah Lancashire, Lenny Henry, Michael Palin, Graham Norton, and Billy Connolly.

Davina has been in a relationship with famous hairstylist Michael, 49, for the past five years. While they are extremely content with each other, they have no intentions of getting married.

In a recent interview, the former Big Brother contestant shared their thoughts on the direction of their relationship. They expressed that neither of them feels the pressure to formalize things, as they are both content with how things currently stand.

Since both of them have been married in the past, Davina mentioned that they didn't feel the need to disturb the status quo by getting married. She emphasized that, for the time being, marriage isn't something they're considering.

In an interview with The Sun, she answered 'no' twice when questioned about whether she was engaged to Michael or if she intended to get married in the future.

In her acceptance speech, she expressed, "I truly enjoy my work, and I feel incredibly lucky to share it with all of you. You may appreciate some aspects, while others might not resonate as much. I've certainly had my share of less successful moments, I admit!"

Before stepping onto the stage to receive her award from Hannah Waddingham, Davina shared a heartfelt kiss with Michael.

Davina received a warm welcome from Joel Dommett, the host of the NTAs, with whom she collaborates on The Masked Singer.

Davina expressed that Michael had transformed her into "a better individual" while gazing affectionately at him from the stage.

Davina is now part of a distinguished group of celebrities who have been honored with the Special Recognition Award in the past. This group includes notable figures such as Sarah Lancashire, Lenny Henry, Michael Palin, Graham Norton, and Billy Connolly.

Explaining why she said no, she continued: "That's not something we're considering at all. He’s already been married, and we’re both content as things are. We don’t want to stir things up. Let’s just keep everything quiet for now."

"We're not really looking for anything. I've known Michael for many years before we started dating, so there was no need for those kinds of questions. I understand him well, which made everything straightforward."

To put an end to any more inquiries about her romantic life, Davina wrapped up by stating, "I have deep feelings for Michael, and I believe it's something too special to discuss openly. I prefer to keep it private."

Davina and Michael go way back; they originally met when he did her hair while she was hosting Big Brother.

In January, Davina announced that she and Michael had started living together, and they had already begun creating their own 'new traditions' as a couple.

The Masked Singer judge shared that her hairstylist boyfriend moved in with her before Christmas 2022. They enjoyed watching The King's Speech together along with Davina's sister, Rebecca.
