David Gilmour To Guest On Jimmy Fallon Tonight

David Gilmour is set to make a special appearance on US television when he appears on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon next Thursday, November 7th.

After an eight-year absence from U.S. television, Gilmour is set to perform a song to promote his new album, Luck and Strange. His television comeback aligns with a series of shows he will be hosting at Madison Square Garden in New York, starting on November 4th.

Gilmour made his final appearance on US television in 2016, promoting his album Rattle That Lock with a show on Jimmy Kimmel Live. Before that, he was on The Tonight Show in 2008, where he performed "On An Island" alongside David Crosby and Graham Nash.

The artist began their Luck And Strange tour on September 27 at the Circus Maximus in Rome. The tour later featured a performance at London’s Royal Albert Hall in October, along with additional shows in Los Angeles.

Aside from his appearance on The Tonight Show and shows at Madison Square Garden, Gilmour doesn't have any other live performances scheduled for 2024.

Luck And Strange has just reached the top of the UK Albums chart, marking the third time a solo album by Gilmour has achieved this feat. His previous solo albums that topped the charts were On An Island in 2006 and Rattle That Lock in 2015. Additionally, the iconic artist has also celebrated six number one albums in the UK with the band Pink Floyd.

Upon its release, the album received enthusiastic reviews. Prog magazine described it by saying, “As a fan, you always wish for more from your favorite artists, but, as this album's theme suggests, time doesn't always align with those wishes. Luck And Strange could serve as a poignant tribute to his significant talent. It’s truly a wonderful album.”
