The events will provide a special sneak peek of David's upcoming live shows in cities like Rome, London, Los Angeles, and New York.
Showcasing tracks like 'The Piper’s Call', 'Between Two Points', and 'Dark And Velvet Nights', 'Luck and Strange' was crafted over a period of five months in Brighton and London. This marks Gilmour’s first album featuring new songs in nine years. The album was produced by David and Charlie Andrew, who are well-known for their collaborations with alt-J and Marika Hackman.
The album consists of nine songs, including a wonderful reinterpretation of The Montgolfier Brothers' 1999 track "Between Two Points," featuring 22-year-old Romany Gilmour on vocals and harp. It opens with "The Piper’s Call" and includes the title track, which has a special appearance from the late Richard Wright of Pink Floyd, recorded during a jam session in a barn at David's home back in 2007. The album is accompanied by artwork and photography from the acclaimed artist Anton Corbijn.
This Autumn, David Gilmour will be giving live performances in cities like Rome, London, Los Angeles, and New York. His band includes Guy Pratt playing bass, Greg Phillinganes and Rob Gentry on keyboards, Adam Betts on drums, and Ben Worsley on guitar. Vocals will be provided by Louise Marshall, the Webb Sisters (Hattie and Charley), and Romany Gilmour, who will also play the harp at some special shows, including performances at the Brighton Centre.
