Sir David Attenborough and David Beckham among royal box stars at Wimbledon

He had a good laugh with soccer player David Beckham, who was at the event with his mom Sandra.

Beckham, wearing a light brown jacket and dark brown tie, also seemed to be in a cheerful mood.

Additional celebrities in attendance on the opening day of the championships were soprano Katherine Jenkins and Alexander Armstrong from the TV show Pointless.

Katherine Jenkins and Andrew Levitas were spotted in the exclusive royal seating area.

Singer Jamie Cullum was paying close attention to the tennis match from the special seating area known as the royal box. Also in attendance were Play School's Baroness Floella Benjamin and her spouse, Keith Taylor.

Floella Benjamin was spotted before the opening match between Spain's Carlos Alcaraz and Estonia's Mark Lajal.

Emma Raducanu and the men's defending champion Carlos Alcaraz are some of the most exciting players to watch on the first day at the All England Club.

Alcaraz is facing Estonian player Mark Lajal, while former US Open winner Radacanu received good news at Wimbledon on Monday morning. Her scheduled opponent, Ekaterina Alexandrova, had to withdraw due to illness.
