In Den Bosch city, the Dutch athlete succeeded in defeating the 17-year-old competitor 8-6. This was payback for the defeat he suffered against the young player in Bahrain, where Littler became the champion.

After experiencing defeat in the World Darts Championship final, Littler hoped to make a comeback by competing against Luke Humphries again, this time in the quarter-finals. In an intense finale, Littler emerged victorious.

Luke, also known as "The Nuke," defeated the fifth-ranked player in the world, Gerwyn Price. But unfortunately, he couldn't win against the second-ranked player, van Gerwen, in the final match.

Van Gerwen encountered some close calls against Raymond van Barneveld and Gian van Veen before making it to the final, but he elevated his game when it counted.

Even though Littler had a better score than his opponent, with an average of 106.71 and more successful throws hitting a score of 180, van Gerwen was able to defeat the young man from Warrington by skillfully throwing an 85 finish and securing his victory with a quick, 12-dart finish.

In the blog section, it was mentioned that Littler expressed that he exerted pressure on van Gerwen, but unfortunately, he was not able to capitalize on his opponent's mistakes. Eventually, van Gerwen's exceptional performance led to Littler's defeat.

"I hope I haven't exhausted myself too much for the upcoming Premier League next week! I am eagerly looking forward to visiting Cardiff," he exclaimed during his appearance on ITV.

In the meantime, van Gerwen offered his congratulations to Littler and expressed his belief that the young player has a promising future ahead of him. He also commended Littler's impressive ability to score points.

Speaking about his victory, van Gerwen stated: "I had to bring my A game. As we are all aware, I have faced some extremely challenging opponents in the past year and there have been many instances where I didn't perform as well as I'd hoped. Consequently, it's crucial to maintain determination and a strong will to succeed."

Littler and Humphries are set to have another match this coming Thursday, where they will be the last pair to compete in the quarter-finals during the first night of the BetMGM Premier League held in Cardiff.

Starting the competition, van Gerwen, who holds the current title, will strive to earn his eighth Premier League triumph, a feat that has yet to be surpassed. His first opponent will be the previous world champion, Michael Smith.
