Bridge remains shut amid three-hour delays

Dartford Crossing

Motorists are currently experiencing significant hold-ups due to the closure of the Dartford Crossing earlier today, which is still ongoing this evening.

There is currently an incident being attended to by the police on the Kent side of the QEII Bridge. As a result, the southbound route of the M25 has been fully closed off from Junction 30 to Junction 2.

Vehicles heading towards the bridge are currently experiencing lengthy wait times of as much as three hours, and National Highways has no current information regarding when the roadway will be accessible again.

The National Highways organization stated that there are now three-hour delays on the way. The reason for this is because the incident that happened needs a lot of work to be cleaned up.

The first part of the road on the Kent side of the river was closed down at first, but now the shutdown has been widened. National Highways are cooperating with Kent Police to make sure that no cars are left within the restricted area.

According to a representative from Kent Police, they received a call at 1:36pm on Saturday regarding a person's safety near the A282 in Dartford. Responders are present, and to address the situation, the roadway between J1A and J1B has been shut down.

Drivers who are hoping to cross the River Thames towards the south are now being instructed to take a detour via the Blackwall Tunnel. This change has been enforced as a means of diversion.

National Highways suggests that if you are travelling in the vicinity, it would be wise to allocate a generous amount of time for your journey.
