Disorderly events took place during the press conference on Tuesday evening where Tommy Fury’s fight against Darren Till was announced.
Fury is set to make his much-anticipated comeback to boxing in the New Year, facing off against former UFC standout Till at the Co-Op Live Arena in Manchester on January 18.
The ex-Love Island participant hasn’t entered the ring since his disputed victory against YouTuber-turned-boxer KSI in October of the previous year.
Fury was expected to join the cast of this year's I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here! However, reports suggested that he opted out in favor of a more financially rewarding opportunity.
As the fighters squared off for the first time since the fight was announced, the atmosphere became intense, with John Fury once again at the heart of the scene.
As Fury and Till exchanged harsh words, both sides had to be held back as the situation escalated. At one point, John was spotted throwing a glass of water at Till.
On Tuesday evening, the press conference between Tommy Fury and Darren Till turned into a chaotic scene.
Following a heated exchange of insults, John Fury was caught on camera splashing a glass of water at Till.
Security had to step in to restrain the former UFC fighter before the highly awaited match.
Though it had minimal impact, as Tommy ended up drenched by his father, it still fired up Till, who was seen trying to rush at the 59-year-old man.
Security guards intervened to restrain the man from Liverpool, but John remained determined and undeterred, preparing to confront his son's rival after he removed his jacket.
The confrontation followed a tense press conference during which the two exchanged insults back and forth.
Fury had challenged Till by saying, "Hey Darren, you need to step up and face the heat, my friend."
Till responded, "At the end of the day, if I can’t win against you, I’ll just give you a good kick in the face. How does that sound?"
"That's definitely not going to happen, Darren," Fury said. "We're not in a cage anymore; we're in a boxing ring. You'll soon realize that boxing is nothing like MMA."
This didn’t discourage Till, who kept taunting his rival. He responded, "Clearly it is, so what are you going to do to stop me?"
The confrontation followed an intense press conference where the two fighters exchanged heated remarks.
Tommy Fury ended up drenched after his father tried to splash water on his rival.
John Fury was all set to face off against Till, but security intervened and stopped him at the press conference.
The 59-year-old was obviously furious with Till, referring to him as "pig eyes" eight times.
"If I'm struggling and things aren't going my way, I won't hold back. You won't see it coming."
Fury then remarked, "If you kick me directly in the face, that would make it a real fight, wouldn't it?"
"But I'll come out on top because I'm a true competitor," Till said. "I don't enter a space and think, 'Wow, this is tough.'"
"None of the individuals present pose any danger to me. Neither the security staff, nor you, nor your father are a concern for me."
"As an MMA fighter, I’m fully trained to deliver powerful kicks or elbows when necessary. If the situation calls for it, I'm going to act, and there’s really nothing anyone can do to stop me. How about that?"
In the meantime, Taunted Fury continued by saying, "Tommy, your intelligence is on par with that of a loaf of bread."
"What are you talking about? You're clueless," John said before he threw his glass of water in an outburst.
This followed a heated exchange between John and Till, where John referred to Till as 'pigs eyes', prompting Till to retort with the nickname 'little John', as they exchanged verbal jabs.
Fury’s match against Till will mark his return to the ring after his win over KSI.
KSI, the head of Misfits Boxing, had a great time with all the antics during the press conference.
John had stated, "Keep my son Tyson's name out of your conversations," yet he went on to refer to him as "pigs eyes" eight times.
He went on to call Till a 'shame for Liverpool' and remarked that he had a 'ridiculous expression.'
Till replied, saying, "Tyson came to train with me, and I handled him easily. Nobody's seen you since Usyk knocked Tyson out. Where have you been, little John?"
"Why don't you just return to where you originally came from, my friend? And Little John, please be quiet."
Despite the ongoing jabs and comments, KSI, the head of Misfits Boxing – the organization putting on the fight – appeared to be having a great time, laughing and seeming relaxed as excitement builds for the main event in January.
