I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! has announced its champion for 2024.
In the climax of the show on Sunday night (December 8), the last three contestants – Danny Jones from McFly, Coleen Rooney, known for her "Wagatha Christie" moniker, and Reverend Richard Coles, who transitioned from pop star to priest – faced their last Bushtucker Trial.
The three finalists found themselves confined in the Tower of Terror—wooden boxes piled high. Inside, they were surrounded by snakes, fish entrails, spiders, and cockroaches, causing Rooney to scream in fear as they rushed to collect enough stars for a lavish three-course meal.
After the campers savored burgers, bolognese, and cottage pie on their last evening in the jungle, it was left to the audience to choose the champion of the 2024 season.
Ant and Dec first revealed that Richard Coles secured third place, followed by Rooney in second, which ultimately led to Jones being declared the champion for 2024.
Jones is following in the same path as Sam Thompson from Made in Chelsea, who was named "King of the Jungle" in 2023. Thompson came out on top against notable figures like the contentious politician Nigel Farage and ex-heavyweight boxer Tony Bellew, who were also among the final contestants.
While in the jungle, Jones has received admiration for his openness regarding his mental health challenges. The guitarist and vocalist became quite emotional when discussing his battle with anxiety earlier in the competition, revealing that he has been in therapy since he was 19 years old.
The 38-year-old artist from Bolton gained recognition as a member of the band McFly, alongside Dougie Poynter, who was the champion of the show in 2011. Now serving as a judge on The Voice, Jones shared that he often feels anxious and recounted experiencing nausea and a racing heart during a panic attack he had while performing live in front of his fellow campmates.
In another part of the conversation, fans praised the singer for openly talking about postnatal depression with Rooney and Oti Mabuse from Strictly Come Dancing. Jones shared his thoughts on his wife Georgia's experience with childbirth, explaining to his fellow campers, “In hindsight, she went through postnatal depression. It was incredibly difficult for her, especially since she wasn't aware of it at the time.”
The musician and his wife, a former Miss England, have a six-year-old son named Cooper. He commented, “It was something new for me to witness my wife experience that.”

Before stepping into the jungle, Jones was the top pick among bookmakers to win I'm a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here!, just like his bandmate Poynter had done before him.
When asked whether his bandmates would tease him if he didn’t come out on top, Jones replied that he wasn’t really worried about that. “The guys are definitely competitive, but I doubt it would happen. Honestly, I’d rather not focus on winning; it just adds too much stress.”
I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! Coming Out will air on December 13 at 9 PM on ITV1 and ITVX.
