Danielle Moore, lead singer of the British electronic band Crazy P, has passed away at the age of 52.

The group announced the surprising and astonishing information in a post on their Instagram account.

We are heartbroken to share the devastating and shocking news that our beloved Danielle Moore has passed away suddenly and tragically.

The article did not explain how Moore passed away but it honored the singer who "lived a life guided by love, kindness, togetherness, and music".

"We are in disbelief about the news and we are sure you will feel the same way. She has brought us a lot of joy and we have a great love for her," the statement continued.

We are devastated. We need time to come to terms with what has occurred.

Danielle's life was guided by love, kindness, connection, and music. She lived a rich and meaningful life. Our hearts ache with her absence.

Moore became a member of Crazy P in 2002, with bassist Tim Davies and Mav Kendricks on keyboards. Together, they put out seven studio albums.

The band just finished touring with Róisín Murphy. Murphy posted on social media, praising Moore for being talented in singing, performing, and writing songs.

"I anticipate that our community will feel a deep sense of sadness and grief," she wrote, sharing a picture of the two of them.

She spread happiness and kindness to everyone she came across. My deepest sympathies go out to her close friends and family. Just like many others, I held her in high regard and cherished her.

In a previous article for The Times, Ed Potton described Crazy P's music as a "perfect mix of funk, house, and disco."

And Moore was described as a lead singer who mixes the sounds of a soul singer, the dancing skills of a burlesque performer, and the humor of a club emcee.
