Infamous pitch invader 'Jarvo69' claimed he was behind the FA Cup porn noise prank that tripped up Gary Lineker live on air.

Lineker was presenting coverage of Liverpool's third-round replay against Wolverhampton Wanderers when a chorus of sex sounds played over the BBC host. The former England striker couldn't help but crack up as passed the mic to Alan Shearer over at Molineux, while the legions of viewers watching at home were left in stitches by what had transpired.

And the identity of the perpetrator didn't take long to emerge after a YouTube stream attributed to 'Jarvo69 aka BMWJarvo' showed how the prank came to pass. "Here we are," introduced the jokester on-camera. "We have set up a phone with a loud sex noise in the BBC studio at the Wolves vs Liverpool FA Cup replay."

"We apologise to any viewers offended during the live coverage of the football this evening," read a statement from the BBC. "We are investigating how this happened."

But many fans who have been paying close attention to UK sport in the past couple of years will recognise this wasn't the first time Jarvo69—real name Daniel Jarvis—has played a prank on the sport stage. The pitch invader's past pranks have included running onto the turf during England cricket Test matches.

And it was an incident on the cricket field that landed Jarvis in particularly hot water. He invaded the pitch on three occasions during England's 2021 summer Test series against India, decked out in full cricket gear and pads on one occasion.

And he was slapped with a suspended prison sentence following an aggravated trespass charge. Jarvis was found guilty in September of 2022 after pitch invading at The Oval during England's Test match with India.

After making his way onto the field, he attempted to bowl at Ollie Pope but went onto collide with the non-striker Jonny Baristow. Jarvis defended himself, telling court he never intended to disrupt the match.

"Players and sporting officials do not know whether a person crossing the boundary is intent on doing them physical harm," said the judge while handing down his sentence. "Even if the person is not intent on doing physical harm, as your own conduct shows it is possible for physical contact to be made with a player inadvertently, risking such harm."

It was barely a month after that sentence that 'Jarvo69' lined up for the national anthems at the Principality Stadium for Wales' autumn clash against the All Blacks, dressed in full New Zealand kit. Jarvis then gatecrashed the Stade de France to celebrate with Real Madrid's players after they beat Liverpool 1-0 in last year's Champions League decider.
