According to the zoo, Burt was first caught in the 1980s and made an appearance in the film Crocodile Dundee right before Christmas in 1986.
He acted alongside Paul Hogan in the movie, contributing to the portrayal of Australia as a place known for its stunning natural landscapes and impressive wildlife.
Recognized for his "self-reliant personality," the zoo described Burt as a "confirmed bachelor" with a "passionate disposition," which gained him the admiration of both staff and guests.
"While we grieve his passing, we are reminded of how essential wildlife is to our collective past and the need to protect it for generations to come," the zoo stated.
