Tess Daly leaves Strictly viewers cringing over awkward blunder

Craig Revel Horwood

Fans of Strictly Come Dancing felt embarrassed by an uncomfortable situation involving host Tess Daly during the episode on Saturday night.

After Punam Krishan and Gorka Márquez finished their performance, the host overlooked a critical remark from judge Craig Revel Horwood, prompting him to ask Craig to share his comment again.

BBC fans initially found the moment to be harsh, but when Tess asked Craig to say it again just moments later in front of the celebrity couple, it really made viewers feel uncomfortable.

When sharing his thoughts on their routine, Craig commented, "I found it to be quite disorganized, cluttered, and filled with errors. Unfortunately, it just wasn't your night."

Tess appeared puzzled when the audience started to express their displeasure over his comments to Punam.

Viewers of Strictly Come Dancing felt uncomfortable after an embarrassing moment involving host Tess Daly in Saturday night's show.

After the performance by Punam Krishan and Gorka Márquez, the host noticed that Judge Craig Revel Horwood's negative remark had not been heard. Therefore, the presenter requested him to say it again.

Tess apologized, saying, "I'm sorry, Craig... I didn't catch what you mentioned at the end, my apologies."

With the stars watching uncomfortably, Craig seemed uneasy about having to say it again. He remarked, "I’m sorry, my dear, but it’s just not your night."

Understanding the situation, Tess quickly responded, "I kind of wish I hadn't heard that... but I'm pretty sure we all enjoyed it, right everyone? It was a lot of fun."

Fans quickly took to X, previously called Twitter, to express their outrage over presenter Tess seemingly forcing the judge to repeat himself in a hurtful manner.

Hey @TessDaly, you really don’t need to listen to what Craig had to say. The couples are the ones who do, so if you didn’t catch his comments, then you simply missed out. If the couples had missed it, they’d be using hashtags like #Strictly or #StrictlyComeDancing.

Why didn't Tess catch what Craig said and then ask him to clarify? That was a bit strange. She’s the host, after all! It's odd that Tess had to get Craig to repeat 'Not your night' two times.

"Tess having Craig repeat that Punam performed poorly not once, but twice, is downright harsh. It's just mean for Tess to make Craig echo the harshest criticism the show has ever seen."

"Tess, it really doesn’t matter that you didn’t catch it the first time. Why did you insist that he say it again? Seriously, what was Tess thinking by asking him to repeat that?"

Fans of the BBC were taken aback by the moment initially, but when Tess asked Craig to say the same thing again just moments later in front of the celebrity pair, it made many viewers feel genuinely uncomfortable.

In sharing his thoughts on their performance, Craig mentioned, "I found it to be quite disorganized, chaotic, and filled with errors. Unfortunately, it wasn’t your best evening." Tess appeared bewildered as the audience expressed their dissatisfaction.

As the stars watched uneasily, Craig seemed uncomfortable having to say the same thing again. He remarked, "I'm sorry, sweetheart, but it’s just not your night."

Upon processing what had just been said, Tess responded promptly: "I wish I hadn't heard that... but I believe we all truly enjoyed it, didn't we, everyone? It was a fantastic experience."

Punam and Porka earned 20 points for their recent lively performance.

Fans quickly flocked to X, previously known as Twitter, to express their confusion and frustration over why host Tess seemingly forced the judge to say the same thing again.

In the fourth live show, as host Claudia Winkleman announced that the voting lines were now open, Wynne, 52, tried to put his arm around Katya. However, she quickly pushed his hand away when it slid down her waist.

In another uncomfortable moment, the professional dancer seemed to reject her celebrity partner's efforts to give her a high five following the performance by Sam Quek and Nikita Kumzin.

With her arms open wide, Katya appeared to intentionally turn away from her partner rather than reciprocating the gesture.

Following the attentive observations of viewers on social media, the couple turned to Instagram to clarify the matter.

In a video message to fans, Katya started off by saying, "Hi everyone, Wynne and I are here. We wanted to reach out and apologize for our antics in the Clauditorium on Saturday night."

"It was just a silly joke," Wynne admitted, adding, "I apologize for that."
