Coronation Street's Moses Ekundayo faces punishment over Bernie mistake
There are spoilers ahead for Coronation Street.
Moses Ekundayo was penalized at his workplace for unknowingly overlooking Paul's needs in Coronation Street.
A new employee has just joined the team to work as a personal assistant for Paul Foreman, as he is experiencing the advancement of Motor Neurone Disease (MND). They have recently started working together on the cobbled streets.
He has developed a romantic attraction towards Todd Grimshaw and consequently, this has led him to receive unjust retribution from his employer.
On Wednesday's (January 24th) installment of the show, Bernie Winter showed up at the apartment of the flower shop to discover that Billy Mayhew had hurt his back while trying to assist Paul in getting out of the tub.
Bernie asked why Moses wasn't there to help and was informed that he was running behind schedule. Because of this, Moses hurried to reach Paul, resulting in an unlucky sequence of events.
He unexpectedly bumped into his romantic interest Todd on the cobblestone street and shared with him that he has been excessively burdened by his job.
Bernie watched from afar with doubt as Todd attempted to console Moses with an embrace. After a distressing incident with the fire on the Street, Moses shared the upsetting announcement that his agency had suspended him.
Moses informed Billy and Paul that a report had been filed against him, prompting Bernie to confess to her son that she was the person who had lodged the complaint.
"I had no idea that they were going to suspend him, did I?" Bernie argued. "I simply believed that he would receive a minor punishment."
Paul expressed his discontent and suggested to Bernie that instead of raising complaints to their superiors, he should have directly talked to Moses. Billy also chimed in, acknowledging that Moses is dealing with a demanding schedule due to the lack of caregivers available.
Finally, Bernie decided to make a call to Moses's agency to take back her complaint. But unfortunately, she had to break the sad news that Moses's employers couldn't lift his suspension later on in the episode.
"Several people have already expressed dissatisfaction with tardiness," she mentioned.
Bernie stated that it was impossible for one individual to attend multiple appointments in one day, but his employers remained stubborn and refused to change their stance.
"It's just not right," Paul confessed after his mother apologized.
Bernie said sorry to Moses. However, Billy and Paul suggested holding off on further apologies. Is it possible for Moses to return to work?
