Coronation Street finally confirms Joel Deering's killer - plus a shock twist for Dee-Dee

Coronation Street

After months of guessing, we finally have clarity on who caused the death of Joel Deering, portrayed by Calum Lill.

The tense episode of Coronation Street began with Max (Paddy Beaver) at the police station, facing intense interrogation about his connection to Joel during the night he died.

Max was determined that he had already shared all the information he could with the police, but they continued to ask questions.

Kit (Jacob Roberts) encouraged Max to start over, leading viewers into a sequence of flashbacks that reveal the truth about that night.

We kicked things off with Dee-Dee (Channique Sterling-Brown), who confronted Joel. She was understandably upset, brandishing a crowbar and yelling at him.

Vile Joel made some truly offensive and misogynistic remarks about Dee-Dee and Lauren (Cait Fitton).

Dee-Dee couldn't handle it any longer and swung the crowbar at him, convinced she had just ended his life.

However, he was still alive, and Dee-Dee managed to escape from his wicked grasp.

Next, Kit showed up and got into a heated disagreement with Joel about setting up Nathan by planting false evidence.

Their conflict didn't last long, as it soon became time to share the story of Max and Lauren's connection.

When Joel showed up on Lauren's tracker, she and Max began searching for him.

Max discovered Joel's car and quickly understood that he was planning to take his own life. He then spotted Joel on a viaduct and urged Lauren to remain in the vehicle for her safety.

The two fought each other, but in the end, Joel managed to choke Max.

Before losing consciousness completely, Joel was struck on the head by an unknown person. Just as he was about to rise, he was hit again, this time with deadly force, by a heavy rock.

The person in the picture turned out to be none other than Lauren.

Now that the truth was revealed to the audience, the two had to hide their involvement. They pushed him off the edge to make it appear as though he took his own life.

Max surrendered to authorities, naturally. However, it came to light that he had penned a letter to Lauren, stating that he would accept responsibility for the murder so that she could focus on being a mother to Frankie.

However, Coronation Street had another surprise in store, as it uncovered that the troubled Dee-Dee was concealing something in her bag.

When she found herself by herself, she took out a pregnancy test.

Is she really expecting a baby?
