Roy Cropper has been released from jail after some intense moments on the Coronation Street show.

During the May 30 episode, the owner of Roy's Rolls experienced a sudden shift in luck. At first, it seemed likely that he would meet his demise at the hands of terrorist Griff Reynolds while in prison.

Griff desired vengeance, resulting in a clash with Roy in his prison cell. During the altercation, the antagonist attempted to coerce Roy into admitting to the slaying of Lauren Bolton.

Griff asked if the person was aware of the pain that Lauren's dad is going through because he doesn't know the whereabouts of her body.

Roy emphasized, "I want to make it clear that I don't have any knowledge about Lauren's whereabouts, despite what you might assume!"

Griff cautioned that unless Lauren's father obtains "the necessary information," he will retaliate with the next most fitting option - vengeance!

Roy declined to admit, stating to Griff: "No matter what I say, you're going to end me. It's better to die as a truthful person."

Griff disclosed that he had created an impromptu hanging device to pressure Roy into committing suicide, thereby absolving Griff of any legal responsibility.

In a hurry, Roy dashed towards the entrance of his cell to cry out for assistance, but Griff intercepted him and brandished a sharp object. Griff aimed to persuade the correctional officer that Roy was the possessor of the dagger.

When the prison went into lockdown, Griff permitted Roy to make a last phone call to Nina. During the call, Nina informed Roy that Nathan Curtis had been accused of killing Lauren.

Eventually, the riot guards approached the cell to apprehend Griff while Roy clung to his wedding picture.

"It's fine, Nina, it's fine," he said with tears in his eyes as he comforted his niece.

The TV show then shifted to an intense moment as Roy got out of jail, and both Nina and his lawyer Dee-Dee Bailey were waiting for him with tears in their eyes.

At the same time, Nathan Curtis, who sexually abused Bethany Platt, was taken into custody because a strand of Lauren's hair was discovered in his van.

Upon hearing DS Kit Green's accusation that Sarah Barlow dropped hair while attempting to place evidence earlier in the week, she immediately became concerned about the possibility of being falsely arrested.

Sarah informed the DS that she did not place Lauren's hair in the van but gave it to them instead.

Actually, the audience discovered that Kit had placed the damning hair in Nathan's vehicle. Nathan faced an even grimmer situation as DS Swain declared the person who had provided his alibi for the night Lauren went missing now retracted their statement.

In the end, it was discovered that neither Kit nor Nathan had anything to do with Lauren's disappearance. This was revealed through distressing flashbacks showing Joel Deering viciously stabbing her. This revelation was especially startling because Joel was acting as Nathan's lawyer.
