Conor McGregor will not fight at UFC 303 due to injury
The person from Crumlin used to hold championship titles in two UFC weight divisions, namely featherweight and lightweight. On the other hand, Chandler was a three-time Bellator lightweight champion prior to his arrival in the UFC towards the end of 2019.
McGregor, a well-known figure in the world of sports, was set to have his first match after his loss against Dustin Poirier in July 2021. The fighter, originally from Dublin, had also suffered a leg injury during that fight and has been eagerly waiting to make a comeback ever since.
The UFC President, Dana White, shared some news that Conor McGregor won't be taking part in UFC 303 against Michael Chandler because he's been injured. The replacement main event will feature Alex Pereira, a past UFC middleweight champion who also made history as the only fighter to win both the middleweight and light-heavyweight titles in UFC's history.

He accomplished his feat in a record-breaking time of 736 days and competed in seven fights. Out of his nine victories, he impressively knocked out seven of his opponents, resulting in a success rate of 78%. Additionally, he dominated in 10 out of his last 11 matches. He is now set to go head-to-head with Jiri Prochazka, a former UFC champion in the light-heavyweight division, who boasts an incredible 23 wins in the first round.
There were concerns about the fight happening in the past few weeks. A press conference in Dublin that was supposed to happen on June 3 to promote the event was suddenly called off, which left everyone wondering why. McGregor and his team didn't explain what happened at first.
Afterwards, McGregor shared a video that has been removed from the internet where he talked about how he believes that using less resistance when training leads to more mobility and fewer injuries, while using more resistance results in less mobility and potentially more harm.
"A musical group achieves equilibrium. You could be performing with less intensity, but the roles wouldn't be fulfilled if all members were anxious. Each one was striving to emerge victorious on each occasion."
McGregor is still striving for another victory. He hasn't succeeded since he triumphed over Donald Cerrone back in January of last year.
