The stamps will be released on June 24, 2021, which would have been the Prince's 100th birthday. There will be four stamps in the set, each featuring a portrait of the Duke taken at different stages of his life. The designs were approved by the Queen and the Prince's family. The images on the stamps will include a black-and-white photograph of Prince Philip in military attire, a portrait of him with the Queen taken in 1957, and a photograph from 1992 of the Duke in his role as Chairman of the Save the Children Fund. A final stamp will feature a portrait of the Duke taken in 2010, in which he is wearing a traditional naval uniform. This image was chosen to highlight his long and distinguished career in the Royal Navy. The Royal Mail has said that the stamps will be available to pre-order from June 11, and that they will go on general sale on June 24. Prince Philip had a long association with the postal service, having been the head of the Royal Mail for more than 50 years.
